Bring Kids Home Inc. a non-profit public charity is honored to announce a memorial walkway project for Caylee Anthony in Orlando Florida.

According to school safety experts, the children attending Hidden Oaks Elementary School face serious mental health issues due to the fact that the remains of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony were found in a wooded area leading up to the school. Each school day hundreds of children pass by this location.

Bring Kids Home seeks to develop this property as a community improvement project: with a flood resistant retaining wall and memorial brick walkway. The area where Caylee's remains were recovered will be preserved with minimal changes to the natural surroundings.

Because of this case ---> I am now a skeptic first, so who is "Bring Kids Home, Inc." and who owns them and how long have they been in business? Profit or non-profit.(edit - I see the article says non-profit) Does anyone know anything about them?
Thanks.

Sometime adults get carried away. Wouldn't this be a constant reminder for decades to come. Spend the money on counseling these children if they want to do something. I would not want my child to have to pass that site every day and think about a mother who killed her child. Maybe they should rethink this and get a professional's thoughts about their project. Grief is about moving on with your life, not reminding children that this child died a tragic death. Invest the money in counseling for young mothers if they need to do something in Caylee's honor.

I know my view will get booos but I just think this is not a good idea. jmo

I think that would be nice.

I agree that a permanent memorial for Caylee would be awesome, but I have several questions about this.

-They say it will be a walkway, but a walkway to where in a wooded area?

-Do they have the owner's permission to build such a walkway on the land he owns?

I find it interesting that they obtained the Bring Kids Home domain name on 9/9/08.

Gonna go look up their nonprofit status with the state and the IRS. But, my hinky meter is going into overdrive. Hope I'm wrong.

No, there is nothing about that org. on http://www.sunbiz.org/search.html
There is also no name listed on the website registration on whois.com
I urge everyone NOT to give these people any money until they can be verified. This smells of a kid finder (Dennis Milstead) scam.
Let me tell you about a similar project that was publicized a few years back in Tupelo Mississippi. Some guy (scam artist) wanted to build a memorial wall for Elvis and was selling bricks/plaques for large sums of money. He collected thousands of $$ and nothing was ever built.
Beware!

ITA, Lambchop. I personally think the Hidden Oaks community has been through enough. The Anthony's will be moving away soon and their neighbors need peace. A memorial that will be visited by outsiders is not a good idea. Counseling, education, scholarships in Caylee's honor is a far better way to go. IMO

Putting on asbestos suit now. :)

I also couldn't find them on Sunbiz, but I did find a corp. called "Bring Me Booze." :floorlaugh:

The property on Suburban is privately owned. So, unless this is the legal owner of the land then nobody can build anything on it.
Please don't send any money to bringkidshome.org until verified.

On one of the recent HLN shows, someone asked (a caller, I think) about a memorial at the site. The response from the panel was exactly what you've said: The people who live near the site where the remains were found have had continuous gawking for the past three years. They don't want a memorial and want to be able to live in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood again. I agree. jmo

I thought the same thing and that's unfortunate . Kidfinder's and the Anthony's foundation certainly educated me on being cautious. I hope is legit and look forward to learning more. It sounds like a wonderful project.

Sure sounds like a SCAM! Let's just HOPE there are no recognizable names involved.

And yes, having children continually reminded of a dead body found in the woods is NOT a good idea. No psychologist needed to figure that out!

I love one of the Twitters....it says that children who are left alone in a car should be taught to honk the horn if a stranger tried to get into the car......lol How about instructing adults NOT to leave your children in the car alone. Has to Kidfinders, sounds like them. jmo
