State Tallies Trial Costs; Casey Wants To Be Lawyer?

Her attorney, Cheney Mason, says his client read through thousands of pages of documents during her murder trial. He claims she even told him she wanted to work in his office.

Mason says it's more of a dream for Casey, and given her record it's not a realistic career choice.

Caylee memorial planned on remains site

Public given chance to buy a brick

    snip-
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The wooded site on Suburban Drive, where the remains of Caylee Anthony were discovered, will soon become a permanent memorial.

Eddie DelValle is working with a non-profit organization called " Bring Kids Home " to buy the two acre site. "After the verdict, people's feelings were still raw, and I thought, why don't we have a place where people can come and bring closure here?"

A local artist with experience designing public memorials and gardens is working on an initial design that would include a raised path through the trees.

A public unveiling and balloon release will take place on the site at an event on August 9th, the day Caylee would have turned six years old.

The organization is also selling an opportunity for the public to be a part of the memorial. For $84, people can buy an engraved brick that will be part of the path. Bring Kids Home is also seeking business and corporate donations.

The future has many names: for the fearful it's the unknown, for the reckless it's the adventure, for the pessimists it's the unattainable. For the brave, it is opportunity.

After a call from WESH 2 News, Weaver said that she was withdrawing the offer and said she will no longer represent her client.

"I am not involved in selling information about Casey Anthony," Weaver said in a subsequent email to WESH.

Later Friday afternoon, Weaver's website was no longer accessible. Earlier in the day, the site had contact and background information.

George Cindy leave U.S. On Trip

"The Anthonys aren’t paying for this. It's a gift, and I'm glad we took them up on it," Lippman said.

He said a friend, east Orange County businessman David Deese, is paying for the trip. Deese made the offer some time back, Lippman said.

"I investigated him to make sure he's not some kook. They are comfortable with him and this family," he said.

Attorney for Casey Anthony says he is not negotiating paid interviews for his client
By Associated Press, Updated: Friday, July 22, 2:48 PM

    ---snipped----
ORLANDO, Fla. — The lead defense attorney in the murder trial of Casey Anthony denies reports that he is negotiating deals for a paid interview with his client.

A one-sentence statement attributed to Jose Baez and released through New York-based RMT PR Management on Friday says: “Contrary to recent published reports, I am not negotiating any paid interviews with anyone.”

Reports claim that attorney Jose Baez was "holding court" with bookers from ABC, CBS and NBC.
    ---snipped-----

A TMZ report that Casey Anthony attorney Jose Baez was at Manhattan’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel “holding court” with bookers from ABC, CBS and NBC for a cash interview with Anthony was met with strenuous denials from all three news divisions.

“The report is untrue,” said an ABC News source. “If there is a bidding war ABC News is not and will not be part of it.”

CBS News is not offering and will not offer to license any materials from Casey Anthony,” a CBS News spokesperson said. A network executive was more vehement: “Not a damn nickel.”

“We've talked with Baez about getting an interview with Casey Anthony, but only under NBC News standards and conditions: no payment, and absolutely no job offers for members of her defense team,” said an NBC News spokesperson.

One network booker described the situation as “toxic.”

----alternate juror#14 continues to get himself out there..

    http://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/...cle1181900.ece

    Saturday, July 23, 2011

    ---snipped----

ST. PETERSBURG — After the not-guilty verdict on July 5, Russ Huekler, an alternate juror in the Casey Anthony murder trial, was hit with hundreds of insulting letters, e-mails, Facebook posts and phone calls from strangers calling him "ignorant" and "scum."
    Then the death threat arrived.

"I know where you live," said the anonymous writer. "I hope you drown."
St. Petersburg police, upon learning that Huekler swims in his backyard pool every day, opened an investigation.
One writer, aware that Huekler was a high school government teacher, said he could now teach his students how to go free after murdering someone.

Another taunted that he could teach them how to lie to law enforcement. Many told him he shouldn't be allowed to teach.
So, why the disconnect with the American public over the verdicts?
    Huekler offers two theories:

    • The jury was not privy to inadmissible evidence that the public heard from courtroom sidebars and news.

    • And, according to jury instructions, jurors couldn't find Casey guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of first-degree or second-degree murder or manslaughter or aggravated child abuse without knowing the time and cause of Caylee's death.

For first-degree murder, according to the instructions, jurors had to know that the time between premeditation and murder was "long enough to allow reflection." Since they didn't know when Caylee died or how, they couldn't know this, he said.
------he fails to go into why they couldn't find her guilty of any of the LESSER charges....( oh right---they got her on being a liar. )
