    Will Casey Anthony Face Probation?

Acquitted mom was supposed to serve a year's probation on check-fraud case after her release from jail
July 28, 2011|By Anthony Colarossi, Orlando Sentinel

While much of the broadcast and tabloid world speculates daily on Casey Anthony's whereabouts, records show that, legally, she ought to be here in Orange County.

When Circuit Judge Stan Strickland sentenced Anthony on check fraud and related charges in early 2010, he intended for her to serve a one-year probation sentence after her release from jail.

Should Casey Be Serving Probation In Orlando?

State Attorney's Office May Bring Issue To Judge's Attention

The state attorney's office tells WESH 2 News it is in discussions on whether to ask Judge Belvin Perry to reconsider whether Casey Anthony should be serving probation.

Perry's spokeswoman said he would only consider the probation issue if the state attorney's office took action.

State Attorney Won't Challenge Casey Probation

Spokesman: DOC Policy Allows Probation In Jail

A spokesman for the state attorney's office told WESH 2 News it will not challenge Casey Anthony's probation status.

That probation sentence is not happening now.

After Anthony's acquittal on murder and manslaughter charges, the conditions of her probation were apparently misinterpreted by the Department of Corrections, paving the way for Anthony's release.

Perjury Should Be Punished -- Always
    Diane Dimond
    Posted: 7/29/11
    snip-
Let's talk about perjury -- a person taking an oath to tell the truth and then lying through their teeth. Perjury is illegal and one can be both fined and thrown in jail for it
I recently witnessed what I believed to be an act of perjury while covering the Casey Anthony murder case in Florida. The apparent discrepancy will go unpunished, and that bothers me because it's the justice system saying, in effect, "Okay, never mind, that oath you took really doesn't matter."
I know after the whole hoopla about Casey's murder acquittal it might seem like a small point but I was upset to hear the state of Florida has decided not to pursue perjury charges against Cindy Anthony. I understand she's been through a lot losing her grand-daughter and all but the system cannot allow lies to be told in courts of law with no penalty. It matters because it goes to undermine our whole system

Flynt: My Half-Million Dollar Offer to Casey Is Only Part of It

    http://news.avn.com/articles/Flynt-M...It-442915.html
    By Mark Kernes - Jul 29th, 2011 12:38 PM
"Right after the verdict, I was asked if I wanted to do something and I felt what a lot of Americans did: Although I didn't necessarily agree with the verdict, I felt she might have been responsible for the death of her child, and I just felt that the people wouldn't necessarily want to see her with her clothes on or off," Flynt recounted.
Later, he reportedly added that the men he spoke with find her "really attractive" and "want to see her in her birthday suit... There may be some sick individuals... but that's what life is all about."

Casey Could Be Ordered Back To Orange Co.
DOC Looking For Direction From Judge Strickland

    http://www.wesh.com/casey-anthony-ex...03/detail.html

Casey Anthony could be ordered to return to Orange County to serve a year of probation after all. It's a very real possibility that Anthony could be forced out of hiding.
In another twist Friday afternoon, the Department of Corrections told WESH 2 News that if Judge Stan Strickland were to issue an order clarifying his original intent, it would begin proceedings to supervise Anthony's probation.

Casey Anthony: Is probation coming her way? Stations disagree

    — posted by halboedeker on July, 29 2011 6:32 PM

Will Casey Anthony be going back on probation? WESH-Channel 2 and WKMG-Channel 6 saw the issue differently tonight.

“It is still possible that Casey Anthony will be ordered to come out of hiding to come back to Orange County to begin serving a yearlong probation,” WESH’s Bob Kealing reported.

Attorney Richard Hornsby, a legal analyst for WESH, said the law is clear that the Department of Corrections should be supervising Anthony. “The person’s not supposed to start probation until they’re actually released out of the jail and out on the streets,” Hornsby said.

Randy Means of the state attorney’s office said Anthony’s probation started while she was in jail waiting for her murder trial. “She’s already served what the state required her to do,” Means said.

State Says Casey Served Her Probation

When the clerk wrote up the probation order, she did not include the words “once released.” But Strickland signed it anyway, and it went to the Department of Corrections, which started Casey’s probation immediately on Jan. 25, 2010.
