*At some point Joly-Durocher used his bank card to withdraw $20.00 His bank account hasn't been used since

8:54 PM – Sent text to his father – Requesting a ride home the next day
11:54 PM – Seen in surveillance video at Cecil's Eatery and Beer Society with with three other friends

"The images show Luc at the doorway and he was the last one in the group to come in through the door.

He said the images show Joly-Durocher talking with the bouncer. Joly-Durocher was refused entry to the bar.

"You see the bouncer opening the door for him and then he walks out."

Joly said the outside cameras recorded Joly-Durocher leaving Cecil's and walking west on Main Street.”

Police officers swept the eastern portion of the city's downtown Saturday for clues related to the disappearance of Luc Joly-Durocher.

“The team, which also included a psychic, gathered on Sherbrooke Street. Cyr opened the bag of clothes to let his Golden Retriever Hunter get Luc's scent.

Hunter ran to the house Luc was believed to be the night he disappeared and then headed down Sherbrooke Street to Main Street.

The trail continued through downtown back to Sherbrooke Street where the dog led searchers to the Kinsmen trail.

It was there on the banks of Chippewa Creek where Hunter started to bark and wine.”

Letter to Luke was a birthday Celebration for missing man Luke Joly-Durocher who has been missing since March 4,2011. Balloons were released in two locations, North Bay, Ontario, and Kipawa, Quebec. Letters in the shapes of hearts were written on and attached to the strings on the balloons and at 6:30 pm in both locations the balloons were released. FIRE FATALITY - David Michaliski 62yrs who was a tenant of a first floor apartment. Death was caused by smoke inhalation and a cigarette is the probable source of ignition of the fire.

Thanks for all the updates and information, Deeds. I've been looking for info on Luke but coming up empty. Still following along here, though. Hope he is found safe.

This is an interview from a local news channel in North Bay, the interview is with Joly-Durocher father. According to his father Joly-Durocher was seen in the surveillance video at Cecil's Eatery and Beer Society wearing his jacket which was later found at the home he was staying at on march 4th 2011 the night he went missing along his cellphone.

I haven't seen anything new on Luke either. I grew up in and on the outskirts (20 min. from Temiscaming) of NB. I saw his picture posted on a friend's (who I grew up with) FB back in March. He is friends with her daughter. I went to school with a Joly as well as with a Durocher (curious who his mother is). Strange that his jacket and cell were found at the friend's place.

I wonder why he was not allowed into the bar? Did his friends inquire where he was after they got into the bar? It is strange about his jacket and cell.

From what I understand it was due to him not having proper ID with him to get in but this is word of mouth with no link to support...so take it for what its worth...

Just thinking aloud and meandering about North Bay on Google Maps.....

(and, I have a responsible and smart 19 year old who does things completely nonsensical to me, especially when drinking, so I am pretty willing to take a couple leaps of faith about the nature of teens too--absolutely no judgement or insult intended and I apologize if taken that way)

Luc is denied entry at the bar and just decides to bag it and go "home"--tells his friends to stay awhile and he'll meet them back there. On the way home, which looks to only be a couple of blocks, he drops his ATM card--after getting cash, when pulling cell phone out to text, who knows (my teen loses her card about once a month because it drops out of her pocket somewhere)--but doesn't notice he has dropped it.

Luc gets back to Sherbrooke and, in taking off jacket, or pulling out phone, realizes he has dropped the debit card. Reasonably (?), he decides to back track the few blocks to find it.

Now--leaps of faith and presumptions. I presume he had been drinking and wasn't overly familiar with the area. Could he have walked out and turned the wrong way? Just a block the wrong way goes to the Kinsmen Trail (where dog went). He gets to the bridge at the end of Second Street East and realizes his mistake.....does he then follow the Kinsmen Trail for some time? Why? Does he think he can get back to the house/apartment by following it parallel to the way he arrived? It is a paved, urban trail, it appears, so not hard to walk on or follow, even late at night after drinking.

Does he then get disoriented on how to get off trail and where to get off and back onto road?

The trail is only 3 miles long---what if he got lost on the trail, just kept going and came out near the trailhead? (he would have joined the trail near the tail).....the Voyager Inn is not far from one point of egress for the trail, thus could explain how he got there and a sighting at 3:00 am would make sense time wise if he had followed the trail.

It makes no sense he would follow the trail, though. That is where I get stuck. The dog pointed to it, the hotel sighting can be explained by it and the timing works....but why would he??

Finally, the hotel sighting? What did they see? Did he come in for help/directions? Or did someone see him walk by on a cigarette break? Would there be much traffic on that road at 3 am? Could he have then been picked up?

It also sounds like all the places along the trail have been thoroughly searched.

I hope the family finds a resolution soon.

that scenario does sound plausible but from what I understand Joly-Durocher knew the area some what and the hotel sighting is only a possible sighting it has not been confirmed.

Investigation into Luke Joly-Durocher case continues

In October, 2011 members of the North Bay Police investigative team re-interviewed the witness and as a result of this interview it was determined that the information originally provided was false. As a result, Danielle Leduc-Mitchell, age 31 of North Bay is charged with Obstructing Police and Public Mischief and will appear in court on November 8, 2011 to answer to these charges.

The North Bay Police continues to seek public assistance in this ongoing missing person case.
