Just your typical case - alleged rape, actual murder, "federal marshals,"
alleged kidnapping, actual body found with multiple gunshot wounds:

Man's body found in Sequoyah County
SALLISAW — A man's body was found in rural Sequoyah County after his wife showed up in Arizona and told police her husband had been shot, and she was kidnapped and raped by men claiming to be federal marshals.
---
The woman told police in Arizona that a man calling himself a U.S. marshal appeared at their home on Monday and said he was there to arrest Jack Purselley [whose body was found yesterday].

“We don't think it was a random killing,” Lockhart said.

I wonder if the wife could be lying?

need to shake them trees hard to see what falls out, odd that the alleged perp/s killed the husband but left the wife alive,

“She told us she was at the house with the husband, and there was a knock on the door,” Lockhart said. “There was a guy there who said he was a U.S. marshal and he showed her a marshal’s badge. Then, they barged in and had guns. One guy told the other guy, ‘Go ahead and shoot him.’”

The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department learned of the possible homicide in rural Sequoyah County north of Gans on County Road 4670, at about 8:45 Wednesday morning. Inside, they found the body of 39-year-old Jack Purselley.

Sounds fishy. She ended up back in Arizona, where they came from. I wonder if she knows them.

according to the report, the couple had only been in the area about a month, so apparently they weren't locals. i have a feeling there is much more to this story. i know that particular area is not densely populated but it is likely that somebody saw an unfamiliar vehicle on the road. even so, finding a neighbor who wants to talk about it will be like pulling teeth. jmo, mho, moo and all that jazz :)

wife now says she was not raped or kidnapped, investigators seem to be getting to the truth of what happened, and the truth appears to be she may be involved with the murder of her husband, we shall have to wait to see what (if any) charges are brought in the future

"O my prophetic soul," as Hamlet says. Just seemed very possibly to be the case.

Her story was strikingly bizarre - or "hinky," in WS terms. Indeed, we shall see.

Two Arrested for Murder in Sequoyah County

William Douglas Daniel, 52, of Sequoyah County, and Craig Hart 54, of Vian, have been arrested for first degree murder. They are accused of killing of 38-year-old Jack Purselley, according to Sheriff Ron Lockhart

Purselley and his wife had only lived in Oklahoma for about a month. Lockhart says the two moved to the area to raise horses.

wonder what the motive was?

The woman told authorities that she and Purselley, 39, were inside of their home in the Central High area, between Sallisaw and Muldrow, in the northern part of the county, when they heard a knock at the door. The woman said she answered the door and a man presented a badge and claimed to be a U.S. marshal, saying he was there to arrest Jack Purselley.

The woman told authorities that as soon as she let the man inside, two other men rushed in and gunned down Purselley.

Lockhart said Hart is the suspect that posed as a U.S. marshal and was able to get into the Purselley home.

if the wife was not involved then why on earth would she make up the claims that she was raped and kidnapped, seems there may be further arrests, she maybe one of them

You are right Joe, I edited my other post.

I read the first article wrong *duh*

This heat in the South is frying my brain

Hadn't seen this thread until yesterday, but found a couple of links that try to explain things.

Here is a quick bit on the wife:

*This is a more detailed story of he situation (all the way from the UK):

*British tabloids, as evidenced by the recent scandals, are definitely "shady." But the do get info out to the pubic, right or wrong. Here, you just get what the lawyers feed the press.

From December 2013:

http://swtimes.com/news/final-defendant-purselley-slaying-go-trial

Daniel, the actual shooter, pleaded guilty in August 2012 to second-degree murder in exchange for a 20-year prison sentence and his testimony in the others’ cases. Daniel, who is terminally ill, testified that he shot Purselley five times because Danylchuk held him at gunpoint and ordered him to shoot...

On Sept. 10, just before testimony was to begin in her jury trial, [Raelynne] Simonin entered a blind plea of no contest to being an accessory to first-degree murder. Special District Judge Larry Langley accepted her plea and found her guilty. On Oct. 3, Langley sentenced her to 45 years in prison — the length of time the state of Oklahoma designates for parole purposes for life sentences.

From August 2014:

http://swtimes.com/news/final-defendant-sentenced-five-years-2011-sequoyah-county-murder

The last of four defendants in a July 2011 murder case was sentenced to five years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and two additional charges in Sequoyah County District Court in June.

Craig Neal Hart, 57, acted in concert with codefendants David Joseph Danylchuk, 55, of Sequoyah County and the late William Douglas “Doug” Daniel, 54, of Sallisaw in the July 25, 2011, homicide of Jack Vincent “Vince” Purselley...

In July 2013, a jury found Danylchuk guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Danylchuk received a sentence of life in prison for the murder plus 10 years for conspiracy.
