Revealed secret could solve case of missing boy

A woman who has held a 20-year secret has come forward with information that may help solve the case of a missing boy.

Montreal police are investigating a new lead in the 27-year-old case of a missing child.

Eight-year-old Sebastien Metivier vanished in November 1984 following an after-school activity at a church on Adam Street.

According to the missing boy's mother, Christiane Sirois, a woman she recently met on Facebook wrote to her claiming she knows what happened to her son.

The Missing Children's Network held a march to mark the unsolved kidnapping of a young boy that led to the network's creation 25 years ago.

Eight-year-old Sebastien Metivier was one of three boys who went missing on Nov. 1, 1984.

The other two boys were later found murdered but Sebastien's body was never found.

After an exchange of several messages, Sirois said, she arranged to meet the woman.

When they did meet, she said, the woman was distraught and hesitant, but finally told her that her boy was abducted, killed, dismembered and buried in a field.

Sirois said the woman told her the name of the killer, but refused to tell her where the field is where her son is buried. That's why, she said, she went directly to police after meeting the woman. She's waiting for police to see if they can verify the story.

Family gathers to remember boy missing for 27 years

It was 27 years ago, but his heartbroken family has never recovered.

Sebastien Metivier was only eight years old when he vanished from a schoolyard on the corner of Desjardins and Adam Sts. in Montreal's east end in 1984.

On Tuesday, members of his family and friends were joined by parents of other missing children to remember the boy, but also renew their efforts to solve the case.

I don't understand how someone could do that, tell his mother the name and what happen but then refuse to say where he is.
I really hope his family find him soon.

Just a heads up - Sébastien's parents have started a FB page about him. I don't know if I can post the link but if you search for his name on Google you'll find it.

The investigation is looking into the murders of Wilton Lubin and Maurice Viens as well as the disappearance of Sebastien Metivier. All three were reported missing Nov. 1 1984. The investigation also includes the murders of Tammy Leaky, Denis Roux-Bergevin, Pascal Poulin and Marie-Eve Lariviere.

If the other boys were found, ,is it possible that Sebastien was sold to other perverts?

Just noticed that Sebastien is described as having a pierced left ear!
