CA - Denise McVay, 49, brutally murdered, Hanford, 26 July 2011

    http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/07/29/...rdworking.html

    July 29, 2011

Denise McVay's grisly and random murder was a cruel end for the shy single mom who had worked so hard for so long, family members said.

McVay, 49, was at a Hanford car wash just before 5 a.m. Tuesday when she was attacked by a 17-year-old boy wandering the streets, looking for someone to kill, police say.

Her body was found the next morning in a pool of blood. She had been stabbed more than 30 times and her throat was slit.

Police say McVay did not know Jose Saldana, 17, of Hanford, who was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of murder.

"The suspect decided he was going to kill someone that morning and happened to come across the victim," Capt. Parker Sever said.

    OMG! How brutal!

Just walking around looking for someone to kill.

I noticed in the article it says there was nothing in Saldana's juvenile record to indicate such a level of violence.

Stabbed more than 30 times AND throat slit, that is some kind of rage!

A preliminary hearing was held last February. The case against Jose Saldana will proceed to trial. He remains in custody at the Kings County Jail on suspicion of murder. No trial date so far.

Thanks, JoefromLB. The date on the article is 2012, in fact that is all I could find on this very sad case:

If you read some of the media, she was actually stabbed 64 times, 5 fatal wounds, and he was charged with torture.

That has to be him. There doesn't seem to be a way to find out when his next hearing is, or the progress of the case. There's only the list of inmate names.

    Life without parole for Saldana!

Monster. He flipped a coin to decide whether to kill her.

    http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/story?id=9126056

Denise McVay was murdered by Jose Saldana back in July of 2011. Prosecutors say after an alcohol-fueled night, the gang member saw McVay at a Hanford gas station and flipped a coin to decide whether or not he should kill her. After Saldana stabbed McVay 64 times he carved a gang symbol on her back, stole her car and wallet and went to buy new clothes.

Prosecutor Larry Crouch said, "It's just beyond imagination for me. I have no idea the mentality it takes to do something like that."

How can someone flip a coin to determine if someone lives or dies.
This murderer is now off the streets at a young age. just think how many more people could have lost their lives if he had not been caught. To stab someone so many times and cut her throat and then go off and buy new clothes shows he was a psycho. I just hope that without parole actually means that in America. Here in Australia they are still getting out even when they get without parole. He probably would have got tear drop tattoo to prove his ability to kill. It is just so sickening. I hope his time behind bars is he'll.
