WA - Carnation, 'Tolt Hill Jane Doe' WhtFem UP9536, 18-30, Jun'69

I just read this article and could not find a thread on this case. An unidentified female was discovered near Carnation, King County on 5 June 1969, 23-25 years old, 105-115 pounds, 5'1"-5'2" with dark hair. Her body was exhumed on earlier this week in a bid to identify her with DNA and possibly close two further cold cases

    http://www.seattlepi.com/local/artic...ty-1829260.php

In an effort to solve a pair of mysterious deaths, King County investigators have exhumed the remains of an unidentified woman found slain near Carnation in 1969.

Cold-case detectives with the King County Sheriff’s Office hope to crack two unsolved homicides with the help of DNA testing to be done on the remains of one of two women found dead and decomposed on rural road.

On June 5, 1969, the woman’s decomposed body was found off a dirt road a mile west of the Tolt River Bridge in east King County. Investigators deemed the killing a homicide, and called the dead, unidentified woman “Tolt Hill Jane Doe.”......
I could not find anything for this Jane Doe on Doe Network or Namus however I did find a Jane Doe from King County, who was 21-28, 100 - 120 pounds, 5'0" - 5'4", brown haired and found on July 7 1969 - http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/914ufwa.html

Obviously very similar statistics to the Jane Doe exhumed this week but have seen a few articles now specifying it was definitely 5th June 1969 that the Carnation Doe was found. I wonder if the July 7th 1969 Jane Doe is one of the cases they hope to solve?

The article says one case they are hoping to connect this Jane Doe to is that of a young woman, a portion of whose skull was found in 2006 three blocks away from the Jane Doe found on June 5 1969.

Here's another article. I had just started a new thread not realizing that this thread already existed. Since I was still within the edit-time-window I just deleted the thread and am reposting here.

’69 remains exhumed for DNA analysis

The King County Sheriff’s Office has exhumed the remains of a young woman killed in 1969 in hopes of identifying her and possibly finding her killer.

The remains were found June 5, 1969, about a mile west of the Tolt River Bridge near Carnation, the Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. The body was nude and severely decomposed.

Investigators couldn’t determine who the woman was and dubbed her Tolt Hill Jane Doe. They believe she was white, 23 to 25, about 5 feet 1 and 105 to 115 pounds. She had dark hair.

Investigators believed she died a few weeks to six months before her body was found.

    ...

Detectives wonder whether the case is related to the discovery of part of an unidentified woman’s skull in 2006. The skull was found about three blocks from where Tolt Hill Jane Doe was found. It had been exposed to the elements for “a significant period of time,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Laura Lee Asynithe Flink fits the description. Her pregnancy was in an early enough stage that it probably would not have been detected in what was probably skeletal remains.

Here are the NamUs and DoeNet casefiles for "Tolt Hill Jane Doe"

(I also replaced the bad link above on ctaylor's post).

Laura Flink is among the rule-outs (in addition to Joan Hansen)

Both indicate a discovery date of 7-Jul-1969

I would think that they should look at Verla Winter and Faun Moulton Moon too (though Faun might be a little too tall).

WA - Tolt Hill Murders, 1969

Posted 5:33 PM, February 6, 2015, by Parella Lewis, Updated at 08:43pm, February 6, 2015

    http://catchwmw.com/2015/02/06/murde...serial-killer/

"The state’s only forensic anthropologist, Dr. Kathy Taylor is trying to identify the remains of two women who she believes may have the same killer. “In 2006, up in the Tolt Hill neighborhood which is near Carnation, somebody found a partial cranium in their horse pasture. There is no face, it’s just the brain case,” Taylor explains. When she started researching missing persons cases in the area where the remains were found, she uncovered another mystery.

“We looked back at a 1969 unidentified, still unidentified female that was recovered in the same general area. We realized that it is not only the same area, it’s a block, maybe two blocks a part.”

Four page list, one poi, on page 2, caught my eye because the alleged murder occurred in 1969 and the female victim, is apparently still missing.

I found a link with a scan of the above link that includes a timeline and pics of (most) of the killers detailed.

    Direct link to scan:

BTW, Jamie Grissim (Grisim on CharleyProject) was thought to be a victim of Warren Leslie Forrest, who is mentioned on that list.

Can DNA from dead woman crack two King County cold cases?
    By LEVI PULKKINEN, SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF
    Updated 9:23 am, Wednesday, August 10, 2011

A King County Sheriff's Office detective's car is seen parked near the site where the remains of "Tolt Hill Jane Doe" were discovered on June 5, 1969. Investigators exhumed the woman's remains earlier this month, August 2011, hoping that DNA could help identify the woman and close two cold cases.

Cold case squad exhumes 'Tolt Hill Jane Doe' for DNA testing
by SETH TRUSCOTT, Snoqualmie Valley Record Staff
    Aug 11, 2011 at 2:00PM updated Aug 16, 2011 at 2:37PM

Her real name is a mystery. Forty-two years have passed since the Tolt Hill Jane Doe’s body was found on a dirt road in the Lower Snoqualmie Valley.

All police know about “Jane” was that she was a dark-haired caucasian woman in her early 20s, slender and short.

She was murdered some time that spring, and her unclothed body was casually left along the track of what would become 290th Avenue Northeast, then a dirt road with few neighbors. A passerby spotted her body on June 5, 1969.

    [...]

In 2006, 37 years after Jane Doe’s murder, detectives found a piece of skull from another victim, likely a young woman, three blocks from where the first body was found. The skull fragment had been exposed to the elements for a long time, and was never identified.

The skull that was found was so weathered, it probably dates to the same era as Jane Doe. Detectives now wonder whether the two deaths are related.

    [...]

Anyone with information on the deaths is asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at 206-296-3311.

These young women disappeared on the same day, from Oscoda, Michigan on October 31, 1969.

Bumping, this case is solvable, especially now that it is being looked at again and LE has the DNA.
