I just read this article and could not find a thread on this case. An unidentified female was discovered near Carnation, King County on 5 June 1969, 23-25 years old, 105-115 pounds, 5'1"-5'2" with dark hair. Her body was exhumed on earlier this week in a bid to identify her with DNA and possibly close two further cold cases

In an effort to solve a pair of mysterious deaths, King County investigators have exhumed the remains of an unidentified woman found slain near Carnation in 1969.

Cold-case detectives with the King County Sheriffs Office hope to crack two unsolved homicides with the help of DNA testing to be done on the remains of one of two women found dead and decomposed on rural road.

On June 5, 1969, the womans decomposed body was found off a dirt road a mile west of the Tolt River Bridge in east King County. Investigators deemed the killing a homicide, and called the dead, unidentified woman Tolt Hill Jane Doe.......

I could not find anything for this Jane Doe on Doe Network or Namus however I did find a Jane Doe from King County, who was 21-28, 100 - 120 pounds, 5'0" - 5'4", brown haired and found on July 7 1969 - http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/914ufwa.html

Obviously very similar statistics to the Jane Doe exhumed this week but have seen a few articles now specifying it was definitely 5th June 1969 that the Carnation Doe was found. I wonder if the July 7th 1969 Jane Doe is one of the cases they hope to solve?

The article says one case they are hoping to connect this Jane Doe to is that of a young woman, a portion of whose skull was found in 2006 three blocks away from the Jane Doe found on June 5 1969.

’69 remains exhumed for DNA analysis

The King County Sheriff’s Office has exhumed the remains of a young woman killed in 1969 in hopes of identifying her and possibly finding her killer.

The remains were found June 5, 1969, about a mile west of the Tolt River Bridge near Carnation, the Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. The body was nude and severely decomposed.

Investigators couldn’t determine who the woman was and dubbed her Tolt Hill Jane Doe. They believe she was white, 23 to 25, about 5 feet 1 and 105 to 115 pounds. She had dark hair.

Investigators believed she died a few weeks to six months before her body was found.

Detectives wonder whether the case is related to the discovery of part of an unidentified woman’s skull in 2006. The skull was found about three blocks from where Tolt Hill Jane Doe was found. It had been exposed to the elements for “a significant period of time,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Laura Lee Asynithe Flink fits the description. Her pregnancy was in an early enough stage that it probably would not have been detected in what was probably skeletal remains.

Four page list, one poi, on page 2, caught my eye because the alleged murder occurred in 1969 and the female victim, is apparently still missing.

Her real name is a mystery. Forty-two years have passed since the Tolt Hill Jane Doe’s body was found on a dirt road in the Lower Snoqualmie Valley.

All police know about “Jane” was that she was a dark-haired caucasian woman in her early 20s, slender and short.

She was murdered some time that spring, and her unclothed body was casually left along the track of what would become 290th Avenue Northeast, then a dirt road with few neighbors. A passerby spotted her body on June 5, 1969.

In 2006, 37 years after Jane Doe’s murder, detectives found a piece of skull from another victim, likely a young woman, three blocks from where the first body was found. The skull fragment had been exposed to the elements for a long time, and was never identified.

The skull that was found was so weathered, it probably dates to the same era as Jane Doe. Detectives now wonder whether the two deaths are related.

The first set of remains doesn't seem to fit her description, but the second set of remains could be Patricia Diane French who disappeared from Vancouver, BC, likely around the same time that these girls were dumped here. Serial killer Harvey Carignan was operating in the area at the time and was known to go back and forth across the border quite a bit, although I don't know if he would have had the balls to cross the border with a victim.

I wonder, if they exhumed Jane Doe's body, why they didn't try to do a facial reconstruction? I guess it costs money and takes time, but since they found two people who were most likely dumped there around the same time one would think that there would be enough interest. Or if anything just send the picture of the skull to some amateurs or volunteers. We know Carl does amazing work, there are a few others as well..
