    The Park County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 44-year-old Englewood hiker who has been missing since July 25 near Bison Peak.

    Frank Stanley was gone for two weeks before someone reported he had disappeared after a hike up Bison Peak.

    But the delay wasn't because the math teacher and soccer coach wasn't missed.

    Frank Stanley | Visit Guest Book

    Stanley, Frank Drake Died in a hiking accident on Bison Peak, Park County, Colorado. He was last heard from on July25, 2011 in a text saying he had reached the summit. Frank, age 43, was born in November 1967, in Littleton, Colorado, but grew up in Breckenridge. He graduated from Mullen High School, attended Colorado College and graduated from Colorado State University with a Journalism degree. He received his Masters in Education from the University of Colorado. Following college, he was a reporter for The Sangre de Cristo Chronicle, in Angel Fire, New Mexico. He was well known for his weekly column, Frankly Speaking. In 1995, he moved to Colorado Springs, where he worked for 3 years as a Communications Manager with USA Cycling, at the US Olympic Committee. It was during this time that Frank began taking education courses. In January of 1999, Frank started his teaching career at The Ricks Center for Gifted Children. He was a member of the faculty and coach there until the time of his death. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Virginia and Tor Westgaard of Denver, CO., his sister and brother-in-law, Leila Stanley and Kyle J. Nelson of Albuquerque, N.M. and his sister Helen Stanley Baker, and nephew, Morgan Clinton Baker, of Blythewood, S.C. He was predeceased by his father and step-mother, William and Mahin Stanley. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at 2pm, at the Ruffatto Hall Commons, located on the campus of the University of Denver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park County Search and Rescue, www.pcsar.org/contribute/donate, or to PCSAR, PO Box 194, Bailey, CO 80421. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.
