The Barren River is in the area, but where the remains were found would be nearly impossible to get to (by boat, at least) from where he was last known to be. Were he to have wound up floating in the river near where his boat/vehicle were found, he would've floated toward Bowling Green. He was downstream of a fairly large reservoir (Barren River Lake). Beaver Creek is a tributary that flows into Barren River Lake. That would mean that there is a dam and a lake between the two locations.

Wish we knew more about the remains. As of now, all they have is a skull. They don't know sex/race or how long the remains have been there.

This story has a little different info than the Glasgow paper, but not much more or less. (they still don't know much at all, other than "they're not ancient Indian remains," which ain't much)

Just saw (on Doe) that his workplace was in Glasgow. So the bridge where the skull was found would be on the way to work (if he lived in Bowling Green). But I don't see how he could have gotten there since he didn't have a vehicle (they found it, so he couldn't have driven)
 
The Glasgow paper updated their story (but not with much new info) to state that the authorities don't think it is Fowler because it was so far afield from where his car/boat were found.

I think they still have a LONG way to go in identifying the skull (they won't say if they found more bones). They say that there are area missing persons, but knowing that won't help much until they know age/sex/race and how old the bones are.

Since the remains are skeletal, they could be a few months old or a century old until they've had a chance to test them. The Cumberland Parkway bridge is very near the KY-1297 bridge over Beaver Creek. Before the parkway was made in the early 1970s, KY-1297 was one of the main routes between Glasgow and Bowling Green. Wish more was known about the bones!
 
Skeletal remains found Monday in a wooded area just off the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway near Glasgow are probably those of a woman.

The woman is believed to have been between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall. Her race and age have not been determined, according to a release from the KSP.

She was found in waist-high brush near a parkway bridge over Beaver Creek.

Investigators found a floral-patterned string bikini near the area where the bones were found. The bikini’s weathering is consistent with the skeletal remains.

Her LKA (Scottsville KY) is only about 25 miles from Glasgow.

And the circumstances of her disappearance seem consistent with the bullet hole in the skull.

She also looks like someone who wouldn't mind being seen in a string bikini, although she wasn't wearing one when she was last seen.

Nancy Ann Lockard also is within the height parameters, but Turkey Creek KY is about 250 miles from Glasgow.

They are indicating "Unsure" for gender, despite that they have indicated in press releases that the victim is probably female.
 
Not surprising about the authorities in south-central KY saying "unsure" gender. They're apparently not the sharpest. Especially in regard to gender.

There are at least two unidentifieds in the area that are listed as either male/female, while in documents related to the cases it is clear that they are the other sex. I know that many unidentifieds are thought to be one sex, but later (better) technology made them realize that they were not the sex they thought they were. I can understand that, with the advances in forensics over the past century.
I just don't understand why so many such bodies were found in a relatively small area of rural Kentucky.

Skeletal remains found Aug. 15 down a steep embankment along the Louie B. Nunn Parkway in Barren County are of a Native American woman.

A forensic anthropologic study of the more than 30 bones found tells investigators the woman’s ethnicity and that she was between 5 feet, 9 inches and 6 feet tall. She was 20 to 50 years old at the time of her death, and her remains were left on that roadside for anywhere from one to 15 years, Kentucky State Police Detective Chad Winn said.

“Due to the condition of her bones, it’s hard to narrow down her age any further and hard to narrow down how long she had been out there,” Winn said.

rather tall for a Native American woman but let's see what's out there.
 
KY has a large population of Native Americans. I doubt it is someone as far as MI my money is on Sonya, She was depressed and a bullet to the skull could mean suicide
 
I dont mean her clothes or dark hair, I mean her cheek bones, jaw etc. Her facial structure looks Native American \, not her style.
 
And dont for get if some one has mixed heritage it can be difficult to classify the remains once they are skeletanized
