FL - Matthew Scheidt for posing as physician's assistant, Kissimmee, 2011

(I swear I saw another thread on this but can't find it now)

Florida Teen Charged With Impersonating Physician's Assistant

    (snip)
According to police, the untrained teen spent time in the operating room and emergency room, where he conducted exams, provided patient care and accessed restricted patient information.
    (snip)
Again, it appears, the teen was allegedly stretching the truth. Scheidt had been in the Sheriff's Explorer Program, but was removed for "over-stepping his explorer duties," by attempting to mislead people into the belief that he was a deputy, according to the police report.

But this quote really got me - from the father:

"If you can come up with a reason, I'm all ears. I'm completely and totally all ears," Matthew Scheidt Sr. said. "I don't know if I should get him psychological help. I just don't know."

My posts are meant to help think through possibilities and are strictly an additional opinion under circumstances when many points of view need to be considered. I apologize in advance to anyone whose potential involvement is contemplated in error. Please understand that much of what is happening is merely brainstorming during unfortunate events.

First he's Dougie Houser and then Baretta.

Has he posed as an electrician, plumber or roofer?

Kind of feeling sorry for his dad right now.

    Good catch LMax.

from the Orlando Sentinel source upthread"
The teen — who previously duped Kissimmee hospital workers into letting him perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a patient in cardiac arrest — had all the equipment needed to masquerade as an undercover cop, records show.
Do we know if the patient lived or died. I would think the family would have a huge lawsuit against the hospital for that. More than likely they don't know, though.

    August 2012:

A jury found the 18-year-old guilty of two counts of impersonation and on two of three counts of practicing without a license.

Scheidt reportedly wept when the verdict was read...

Scheidt, who was then 17, had actually been employed as a clerk at a doctor's office across the street from the hospital. He told police that when he went into the medical center to get his identification, he was given incorrect credentials.

Prosecutor Sarah Freeman told jurors Tuesday that the teen went so far in his deception as to be "Dressed in scrubs, stethoscope around his neck... he even had the terminology down."

Scheidt's attorney, Jamie Kane, insisted Scheidt was innocent, and blamed hospital administrators who gave the teen a badge meant for a physician assistant without checking his credentials.

Scheidt faced a minimum sentence of 84 months or a maximum of 20 years in prison but the judge decided instead to sentence Scheidt as a youthful offender.

    February 2015:

A normal teenager turned convicted felon who impersonated a physician’s assistant at a Florida Hospital and who pretended to be a Miami cop while on bail says his lying began at an early age.

Matthew Scheidt of Central Florida told ABC that he began inventing stories after his mother was arrested in 2002 for possession of crystal meth.

Ashamed of his impoverished lifestyle and of his mother's addiction he says he told his classmates lies about the type of lifestyle he lived.

    April 2012:

A Florida hospital has been fined $5,000 for hiring a teenager who worked for more than a week as a physician’s assistant, treating patients and even performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on one, despite a lack of qualifications to do so.

Osceola Regional Medical Center has changed its policy to avoid a repeat of the mistakes that resulted in Matthew Scheidt, then 17, being hired and given a badge that allowed him access to patients after he allegedly falsely claimed credentials as a physician assistant, WFTV reports.

You can look up his criminal cases here. I can't figure out what he got for impersonating a police officer etc. The one year was just for the hospital fraud.
