Identified! MD - Prince Frederick, in woods near Tate Rd, Sep'11 - Wesley Kyser

I always remember the Lyon sisters when I think of Maryland missing.

... it doesn’t appear the skull is that of a man whose headless corpse was found in Calvert County during the early 1990s.

That man, identified as Charles Edward Taylor, was 50 year-old when his son allegedly murdered him. The elder Taylor’s remains, minus his head, were found in a wooded area around Route 264 and Hance Road in Port Republic. Taylor’s head was never found.

Skeletal remains found near Tate Road

Identified as missing Calvert man

Members of the Calvert Investigative Team have identified skeletal remains found near Tate Road as a homeless man who was reported missing last August.

In August 2011, Wesley Robert Kyser, 58, of Calvert County was reported missing by family members, according to a press release. Maryland State Police began an investigation in the Prince Frederick area, where family said he lived.

A human skull was found in the woods near Tate Road in September, police said. The Calvert Investigative Team conducted grid searches using search dogs of the woods near where the skull was found, but did not find any signs of skeletal remains, the press release states. The skull was identified in November as Kyser’s.

On Feb. 1, Department of Public Works Highway Maintenance Division employees found skeletal remains of a body about 450 yards from where the skull was found. The remains were positively identified as Kyser’s and the family has been notified, police said.

Interesting the skull was identified in November, but the NamUs case file was never closed out or updated as identified. CarlK, if you happen to see this maybe you have a NamUs contact or someone you can contact to let them know this NamUs case file has been closed/id'd? If so, tia.
