LAKELAND, Fla. — Court records show a Florida man who authorities say shot two ministers after killing his wife had pleaded guilty to killing a previous wife.

Jeremiah Fogle is charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder after Sunday's shootings at a Lakeland church. Authorities say he killed his wife, Theresa, at the couple's home before opening fire at the nearby church.

He got probation for killing his first wife???

He got probation for killing his first wife???

That is what the article said! Difficult to believe. :banghead:

Who would marry a man who had murdered his previous wife? But then again...he only got probabation...not that big a deal...???

A Lakeland man who fatally shot his wife then opened fire inside the nearby Greater Faith Christian Church in 2011, hitting the pastor and a minister, was sentenced to life in prison Friday.

The minister died months later of his injuries.

Jeremiah Fogle, 62, charged with two counts of first-degree murder, had faced the death penalty in the case, but prosecutors said Fogle's age, mental health and the fact that the families of the victims did not wish to pursue death for Fogle all played a role in the State Attorney's Office decision to accept the guilty plea agreement.
