Senate Committee Debates Bill Instituted After Casey Anthony Murder Trial
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida law enforcement officials say it could be a mistake to set a deadline for reporting children missing.
Instead they urged a Senate committee Monday to strengthen penalties for those who give false information to police searching for missing kids.

Call Her Fort Knox -- Amanda's Story Could Net Her Tens of Millions of Dollars, Experts Say
“Unlike Casey Anthony, who has essentially become public enemy number one since her acquittal, Amanda Knox has garnered tremendous public sympathy, mostly due to what many perceive as her being the victim of a corrupt criminal justice system.

According to the Los Angeles Times Jacket Copy, “There public had little sympathy for Casey Anthony, whose young daughter disappeared under mysterious circumstances and was later found dead.”
In a Jacket Copy poll, 80 percent of respondents said they weren’t interested in a book from Anthony.
But what about Knox? Will she face the same response from her potential reader base? As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, a poll from the LA Times asked, “Should Amanda Knox get a book deal?”
Fifty percent said, “Yes, I agree with the verdict and Amanda Knox is innocent.” Only 8.03 percent said “No. I agree with the verdict, but I don’t think she needs to write a book.”

Who’s the big loser as Amanda Knox’s release generates major headlines?
Casey Anthony.
Knox’s acquittal became a triumph for her family, which stood by her and fought the perception that she was a “she-devil.” Anthony’s trial exposed the bizarre frictions in a family where a toddler was the victim.

Such good-looking women, like Casey Anthony, Ruth Ellis or Lucrezia Borgia, do not commit such evil acts. Their porcelain-like features throw into question our very notion of evil. And the dissonance between our view of what 'evil' people should look like and how they actually look cements our engagement with any process surrounding their actions
.
*typo in article: "The United States has also produced several women whose actions received worldwide notoriety, most recently those of Casey Anthony, the woman found guilty of murdering her young child"

Casey Anthony won't say much in deposition Saturday

Casey Anthony is set to be deposed Saturday in the civil case involving Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, but don't expect to hear her say much.

Anthony is expected to plead the fifth — her constitutional right against self-incrimination — to many of the tough questions attorney John Morgan plans to ask during the special video-link question-and-answer session.

Casey recently flipped out during her first sessions of psychological therapy, exhibiting several frighteningly different personalities, add the insiders
Casey has morphed into several different characters – a near-infant, babbling in baby talk, like she was speaking to her long-dead daughter Caylee, a volatile victim threatening to “get even” with society and a carefree party girl, according to the sources.

Judge caps murder fees for indigent murder defendant who wanted to hire pathologist from the Casey Anthony trial
DAYTON — The chances of Dr. Werner Spitz, the forensic pathologist from the Casey Anthony trial, testifying in a local trial became more remote this week — unless Spitz wants to waive his usual fees.
Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Gregory F. Singer ruled Tuesday that Ralph Donaldson, charged with murder, could hire a pathologist at state expense, but also ordered that the total expenditure cost no more than $5,000.

"Matt Morgan said he expects Casey Anthony's defense to try to have Saturday's deposition sealed, but that will be challenged by the Morgans as well. They will argue that whatever Anthony says during the deposition is a public record that should be available for public review.

Morgan said he wants to disseminate the deposition to the public as soon as possible. Though Anthony might not say much during this initial deposition, Morgan said it will be "eventful to see her reaction" to the questions Saturday."

Jose Baez: 'It's Grossly Incompetent' for Cadaver Dogs to Search for the Missing Maryland Woman Remains Now

The defense attorney for Gary Giordano believes it is a waste of time for Aruban authorities to just now bring in cadaver dogs to search for the remains of his client's missing travel companion.

"I think it's grossly incompetent for cadaver dogs two plus months after the fact," Jose Baez told ABC's John Quinones. "Whatever scent of decomposition they expected to find is long gone."
