The women on “The View” were laughing in ridicule, initially, at New York Post columnist Andrea Peyser’s contention that Casey Anthony and Amanda Knox were too pretty to convict.
Peyser wrote: “Following in the footsteps of her role model, Casey Anthony — another 20-something hottie, acquitted in Orlando for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee — Knox played the ‘I’m too pretty to kill’ card.”
Andrea Peyser’s NY Post article at nypost link below
Joy Behar said that the victim in Knox’s case — roommate Meredith Kercher — “is no beauty and so they’ll end up saying she killed herself before you know it.”
Behar amended the statement to say Kercher “was cute enough,” but that “Amanda Knox and Casey are like, you know, hot numbers.”

Jose Baez faces two Bar complaints stemming from Casey Anthony trial

If probable cause is found in either complaint in the coming weeks and months, Baez would face a trial handled by a "referee."

In such a scenario, the Bar would present a case against Baez, and he would have the opportunity to defend himself.

The cases would become much more public if probable cause is found.

WEST PALM BEACH — A Pentecostal minister is suing the National Enquirer, claiming it defamed him when it printed a story indicating he was under police investigation for possibly killing Orlando toddler Caylee Anthony as part of a human sacrifice ritual.
"Bizarre Twist in Caylee's Murder, Minister Subject of Inquiry in Possible Human Sacrifice," according to a headline in the Boca Raton-based tabloid's Oct. 12, 2009 edition......

Still, one thing she’ll never get over is the loss of little Caylee.

“The ‘Tot Mom’ case was a very dark time for me,” she confessed. “I was so distraught about the way Caylee died. And people may mock me for saying this, but I know where Caylee is. She’s someplace where her mother can never hurt her again.”

Former prosecutor to make library appearance
"Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony" is set to go on sale Nov. 15. The book will cost $26.99, according to William Morrow, an Imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.
The following Monday, Nov. 21, Ashton will do a public question-and-answer and book signing at the Orlando Public Library downtown....
The several hundred page book is finished, according to Sharyn Rosenblum with William Morrow. She added that Ashton "really wants to be public about this." He is expected to do other appearances to promote the book.

Imperfect Justice
Prosecuting Casey Anthony
By Jeff Ashton
Book Description
Moving beyond the simple explanations, Ashton offers an in-depth look at the complex figure of Casey Anthony, a woman whose lies he spent three years trying to understand. And yet this focus on Casey came with its own risks; here he details how this widespread fixation on Casey—both in the media and in the trial—may have undermined the case itself. As everyone got caught up in the quest to understand the supposed villain, somehow the victim, Caylee, was all but forgotten—not just to the public, but more important, to the jury.

The Orange County Bar Association will sponsor “Lessons in Ethics & Professionalism from the Casey Anthony Trial.”
The event will not — and I repeat will not — be open to the public, the association said. It is for the group’s members, contrary to any other information on the flier.
For the defense, Cheney Mason. (Jose Baez is not listed on a flier promoting the event.)

Jose Baez: Casey Anthony and Amanda Knox are two 'all-American girls'

"Baez told TMZ he was happy for Knox and said watching the verdict was “a very surreal moment.”

“I remembered being in that situation – where a young woman's life hung in the balance – and in a split second, her life was given back to her,” the attorney told the online tabloid.

Baez also slammed Casey's family and praised Knox's, saying the American student had the support of her loved ones, while he felt Casey's family “hurt her case” because they failed to support her.

He also noted that he believes Casey and Knox are just two “all-American girls.”
