I read about this case years ago in an in-depth article written by a New Mexico paper. It scared the bejesus out of me. I always wondered why LE never pursued this further because there was no was these people did what they did and didn't have more victims. I figured they must have been dead to not come forward. Glad to see LE on this! I will look for the article I read years ago and post it.

Bodies of Up to 40 Sex Torture Victims to Be Sought in New Mexico Lake

Police have reopened the unsolved case of an Albuquerque woman missing for 16 years after authorities received new information connected to a man who boasted in writings that he was responsible for around 40 victims.
Albuquerque police are set to join FBI agents and New Mexico State Police on Tuesday in a search around Elephant Butte Reservoir and nearby caves where they believe David Parker Ray may have buried some of his claimed victims.

I don't know if this will be of any help to anyone, but New Mexico news has been busy reporting on David Parker Ray. He died in prison in 2002, but he had bragged about killing 40 women in a sex/torture manner. He lived near a large lake, and they are now talking about searching the bottom of the lake for bodies. This FBI released these pictures today

that shows items found in his home that may belong to any of the 40 victims which he bragged about killing before he died in prison. Is there a thread on him somewhere? I did a search but didn't find one...

Anyhow, I thought if I posted this here, it might be helpful.

I read a book about these cases. Very scary. There is bound to be more victems. I can't believe they are just now deciding to check the lake. He said he killed 40 and I think he probably did.

Can't get the link to work to the abqjournal article unless you have a subscription.

There is a thread on Jill Troia, one of his possible victims, here: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114893"]NM NM - Jill Suzanne Troia, 22, Albuquerque, 30 Sept 1995 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

have any of the remains been DNA sampled, and have the results been entered into NaMUs? Would love to know if any of them are my sister. We had traveled to NM a few years before she vanished. People with such a complete indeference to live make me sick.

I don't think any remains have been found yet. Does your sister have a thread? I would love to read it.

Thanks for all the links, I had not heard of this before

You might want to take a look at tokens found at DPR's home to see if you recognize any of them.
