21 Year Old Serial Killer

He probably made his connections online. There is currently no connection with the Highway of Tears because of the timeline, but that possibility is being explored. FBI assisted in connecting him to other murders in the area. It seems that youthful murderers with no motive are becoming more common.

"A 21-year-old man who was already charged in the slaying of a 15-year-old girl has now been charged in the deaths of three women, say RCMP in Prince George, B.C.

Cody Legebokoff was charged in late 2010 with first-degree murder in the death of Loren Donn Leslie, 15, whose body was found on a remote logging road just off Highway 27 near Vanderhoof, B.C., last November.

On Monday, police announced Legebokoff is now facing three new counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Jill Stacey Stuchenko, Cynthia Frances Maas and Natasha Lynn Montgomery following a 10-month investigation.

Legebokoff is being held at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre"

When I saw his photo I thought it looked like the Craig's List killer. :twocents:

I think there's something similar with the Craig's list killer. Philip Markov liked to humiliate women according to his victims. There were 16 victims but only 4 came forward. One was murdered. He found all his victims online. I think this guy, Cody, found his victims online too. There's information that he used 1CountryBoy with social media. I suspect he enjoyed humilating his victims. Two of them were 35, one was 15 and blind. I think he is a very dangerous man, a bit like the 27 year old Dutchman accused of murdering Joanna Yeates, and Joran van der Sloot of Aruba (aged 17) that murdered Stefanie Flores in Peru five years later on the anniversary of the first suspicions.

How very sad for those poor women and this poor young girl.

Here I found an article from back in 2009 about Jill Stuchenko.

May she rest in peace. May her children know they had a talented, beautiful mother.

Thank you for the link! It seems that autopsy results are being withheld. Two of the four victims were connected with escort agencies and two were not.

The suspect's grandfather described him as a regular person that played hockey and who had a completely normal childhood. I think he is probably a true sociopath that killed out of curiosity, enjoyed it and would continue killing until caught. I hope he is declared a dangerous offender.

Paul Bernardo comes to mind. Russell Williams.

yep he sure does look like the boy next door, except his eyes are dead

I'm not getting a Bernardo or Williams vibe on this one but he does remind me of the Craigslist killer (based on nothing but my personal feelings) and I frankly have no idea what the differences (if there are any) would be between them as far as their murderer 'category'

what goes so terribly wrong in their minds/lives that it leads to this? well, I think I know what went wrong in both Bernardo & Williams' early childhoods but it's terrifying for me to think that people like this exist without any suspicion on the part of their loved ones/family

“Cody has a loving family and caring parents, siblings and a large extended family in the region,” Mr. LeMoigne told the Prince George Citizen. “In school he was well liked by his peers and was very good at sports. He played minor hockey at all levels and belonged to the downhill ski and snowboard team.”

“He’s from a wonderful home,” said Ms. Leslie’s grandmother, Kathleen Leslie, who grew up with Mr. Legebokoff’s grandfather in Fraser Lake. “It’s hard to fathom. [The family doesn't] know what in the world could have caused this.”

Mr. Goodwin said his family is struggling to come to grips with the magnitude of the allegations his grandson is facing.

“Everybody liked him, there wasn’t a person that had a bad thing to say about him — nobody,” said the grandfather, who last saw Mr. Legebokoff a month before his November 2010 arrest when he showed up at a Thanksgiving dinner with a girlfriend. “There’s a split personality or something wrong in his head. He needs a doctor to help him.”

Even one of the victim's grandparents said he came from a good, loving family. It is particularly scary for the community (or society as a whole for that matter) that a person who seems so normal could perpetrate such horrible crimes. If he is just 'wired wrong', then that implies that people like him exist and cannot be identified beforehand and cannot likely be 'fixed'.

The crimes CL has been charged with were done when he was only 19 and 20 years old, with the last three done within only a 3 month time span. LE is looking to see if there were more.

There is much made of him using social media, but I don't think that is how he found his victims. I saw a news video the other day in which a social worker in Prince George said that the three older victims would not have been using social media. The 15 year old victim apparently knew him through a circle of friends.

Another good article. A friend talks about how the killer went missing for a few weeks. He was a big user or Facebook and Plenty Of Fish. He partied in the same circles as victim Loren Leslie. He had a girlfriend at the time of the murders.

3 victims are connected by DNA. Some victims bodies were taken to Pennsylvania for special testing. The 4th victim has not been found.

Also..." an “instrument” used in the murders and that forensics specialists in America took bone imprints from the two girls to ensure it was the same instrument that was used on both of them."

Now he has fired his lawyer, the trial may be 2 years away.

"PRINCE GEORGE - RCMP have not linked the discovery of human remains discovered yesterday in a wooded area off a main boulevard in Prince George to any particular case.

But an autopsy to be conducted today is expected to provide more information, including sex and age, said RCMP Corp. Craig Douglass.

"The Prince George RCMP understand that the discovery of human remains is of great interest to the community," noted Douglass.

Prince George is the location of a recent high profile case where accused 21-year old serial killer Cody Alan Legebokoff has been charged with the murder of four women.

The body of one of those women - 23-year-old Natasha Lynn Montgomery - has not been found."

If it is her, it is kind of odd. She has been missing since 2010. As usual she had dropped out of the media. But recently there have been pleas about finding her remains. He is going to trial. Now they find the body. It would be an odd coincidence.

I'm not quite sure what you are implying. Are you implying that there are no new remains and the story is just made up? Are you implying that they stashed the remains, didn't announce it, and are just announcing it now so there is more impact for their case? Are you implying that this missing woman is a manipulator and set this all up?

I am confused, and yes, possibly naive, but I am curious as to your comments.

Nothing so sinister. But more like maybe someone knew what area to look in, and decided to go looking. Or maybe it is nothing more than coincidence.

I just googled a bunch of serial killers, I couldn't find one who started so young. If this guy hadn't been caught, can you imagine what his final bodycount would have been?

PRINCE GEORGE - The human remains found yesterday in a wooded area in Prince George are not those of a missing woman that 21-year-old serial killer Cody Alan Legebokoff has been charged of killing.

RCMP announced Thursday afternoon that an autosy revealed the death was not suspicious, and therefore is not a homicide.
