Authorities are still looking for a missing person. Seventy-four-year old Ronald Johnson of Riverdale has been missing since Oct. 15.

Johnson was supposed to stay with his sister in Valley City on the 16th, followed by a doctor`s appointment in Fargo on the 17th. He didn`t make it to either.

The McLean County Sheriff’s Department is working to confirm new information on a missing Riverdale, N.D., man that may place him in New Town on the night he was supposed to be in Jamestown, according to Sheriff Don Charging.

Ronald Johnson, 74, was going to visit his son in Jamestown on Oct. 15 and his sister in Valley City on Oct. 16 and go to a medical appointment at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Fargo on Oct. 17.

He did not make it to any of those destinations.

“We are investigating a (bank) transaction right now,” Charging said.

Johnson, or someone with Johnson’s bank information, allegedly withdrew money at 4 Bears Casino and Lodge, in New Town.

The search for Ronald Johnson, 74, Riverdale, N.D., was scaled back Monday after no new information on his whereabouts has been discovered.

“Currently Civil Air Patrol has ceased their operations pending any new evidence or circumstance that would warrant searching other areas,” said Don Charging, McLean County sheriff.

The unblinking eyes of security cameras at 4 Bears Casino recorded the last known whereabouts of a Riverdale man who left the casino, signaled a right-hand turn in his old, gold Cadillac onto Highway 23 toward New Town and has never been heard from since.

In this void of complete silence, his family tries to fill the empty space with hope. News of any kind would be better than the nothing they've heard for nearly three months.

Ron Johnson, 74, is somewhere. But where?

In several cases I know of where people vanished with their vehicle, they were ultimately found submerged in water--a lake, an estuary, a reservoir, etc. I haven't read much beyond what links are posted here on Websleuths, but does anyone know if waterways near the roads Mr. Johnson traveled were looked at carefully?

I was just thinking the same thing. My first thought here was water, but this info from Charley Project does make me wonder...plus he was supposed to be somewhere on October 15 (I think his sisters) and he didn't show, but he was at the Casino on surveillance on October 16. I wonder if he was alone?

From the appearance of his home, it appeared Johnson had been interrupted and left home suddenly for an unknown reason. His medication and checkbook were left behind, but his vehicle, a gold four-door 1982 Cadillac Fleetwood with the North Dakota license plate number HZZ466, was missing. A photo of a similar car is posted with this case summary.

Johnson enjoys playing poker and spending time in the outdoors. It's uncharacteristic of him to miss medical appointments or leave without warning. An extensive search of the area turned up no indication of his whereabouts. His case remains unsolved.

Circumstances of Disappearance​

Ronald was last known to be driving his 4-door 1982 gold Cadillac Fleetwood with ND plates HZZ 466 (see photo). Ronald was expected to stop and visit relatives in Jamestown and Valley City before heading to a medical appointment at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Fargo at the time he disappeared.

On October 16, according to his bank statement and security camera footage, Ronald spent the early morning hours at 4 Bears Casino and Lodge in New Town (see photo). After leaving the casino, neither Ronald nor his car have been seen. Ronald had his cell phone on him, but the battery went dead a few days after he went missing>>
