    MO - Cleo Jones, 73, Ferguson, 19 Oct 2011

Police looking for 73-year-old who went searching for Baby Lisa Irwin

Ferguson, Mo. - Police are looking for Cleo Jones, 73, who believed he must search for missing 11-month-old Lisa Irwin because he was confused, according to family.

KMOV reports that Jones was convinced Baby Lisa is his granddaughter, despite his daughter reassuring him that he is not the child's grandfather and has no relation to the missing Kansas City girl.

“It has been Wednesday since he has had his medication,” his niece Karen Spencer told the local news outlet. “He has Alzheimer's, he is diabetic and he also has high blood pressure. So, time is definitely of the essence.”

Jones was last seen leaving his home at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night and hasn't been heard from since.

Police looking for missing 73-year-old .

(KMOV) -- The family of 73-year-old Cleo Jones says that he was confused the afternoon before he went missing. Jones called his daughter, believing that he had to search for Lisa Irwin - the missing infant from Kansas City. Jones' daughter tried to reassure Jones that the infant was not his granddaughter.

Later that night, neighbors told the family that Jones left his home around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.

So sorry to hear this. What a sweet and caring man to try to go to little Lisa's rescue! A dear friend of mine, age 84, has had Alzheimer's for the last 8 or so years, and would have attempted to do the same thing.

Why can't LE issue a silver amber alert since they have a description of the vehicle he is driving?
