    Smileys & Copyrights Question

Does anyone know if the smilies from Smiley Central are copyrighted? I guess what I need to know is if I can use smilies that I find online on a website that I make for my dad's travels each winter. His site doesn't make any money, there are no ads or anything like that - it's just a space for his family and friends to keep up with his travel journal. I don't want to use some graphics that I've found and then later find out that it's illegal to use them or something. I hope someone can help me figure out if I can use these graphics on my own site (giving thanks to Smiley Central, of course, for the use of the graphics on the page).
    TIA!

Jovin (and anyone else who enjoys finding graphics) - I need to find a ferry boat, train and if possible, a hitchhiker. If you're on the prowl for other smilies and come across one of these, please let me know. TIA!!

    Hi SieSie...

I think the best thing to do is to read the stipulations when you download Smiley Central. I'm sure it would specify there whether or not you could use it on your site.

I doubt if there's any problem, since it's basically a personal site for your own viewing and your family. I really don't think that would be classified as a site that they would consider a problem.

I'll do the best I can to look for the icons that you want, and I'll be going out today, but will have it on my list of things to do.

I'm checking the "help" menu now in the Smiley Central window to see if I can find out the answer to your question.

    I think it's okay

from all I read in the help menu for Smiley Central, it tells you how to use it on your website, so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Just go into the help menu, if you like, and read the info there. There's alot of information for you to look through, but my bottom line is that it is okay to use them.

I'll be checking for icons for you. I assume you have these already..they're only Smiley Central...type in "train" etc in the search bar below.

Here is a list of some of my smiley sites....I'm going to be out today, so maybe you might want to look at some of these places too.
