Good morning!

11/9/11

This thread is for today's MSM links about Baby Lisa. Please keep discussion to a minimum. If a topic needs discussion, please find or create an appropriate thread.

May today be the day Baby Lisa is found! :heartbeat:

A reminder about Facebook pages:

"Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!"

Being here in NY I see nothing about this case unless Faux news has it on. So I appreciate all the updates from everyone on here. I feel like we are hitting a dead end.

The fact that the police even have to negotiate this is beyond insane. I see this case setting up some bad situations for future cases. Parents CANNOT and SHOLUD NOT run the investigation nor dictate terms to LE in the investigation into their missing child. Bad things man, bad things.

I agree with you to a point although everyone has rights. I think once you start talking about kids, if you say LE can talk to your child anytime they want and you have no say in it, you're going to get a whole lot of parents up in arms about that.

I disagree. They have avenues (court orders) for getting what they need from minor kids, and even adults, with probable cause. If they don't have probable cause, then discussions are fair and just. It's a respectable system.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A spokesperson for the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office said the Lisa Irwin case is moving very slowly and thinks it could be a long while before the case moves forward.

...

“Sometimes there are just no breaks in the case. There are cases that are just not solved. We have thousands of children who are fortunately not returned to their families. The instances of infants not being returned are infinite but they do exist. Now I see this investigation taking years if ever to be solved," said Tabman.

Tabman said he thinks police have been aggressive and thorough.

Respectfully, then WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG?? this is not directed at you, Abby, I agree w what you are saying. And I believe there is probable cause, no?

It is my opinion that too much time has gone by to be able to rely on anything these boys may or may not remember. They probably have overheard discussions and have had said things to them by relatives or school mates. What should be done - and I am surprised it wasn't done immediately is the cheek swab thing. Had it been done immediately, that would cut down on somethi9ng new to upset them.

Well, from reading the article we can see where DB's suggestion that LE pick up the cigarette butts came from.

In another development, Headline News is reporting a third person was hanging out with Lisa’s mom, Deborah Bradley, and another neighbor the night Lisa disappeared. The man told HLN in an interview that he lives two doors down from Lisa’s home and spent about 90 minutes on Bradley’s porch, smoking about four to five cigarettes while he was there.

I thought she wanted the butts picked up from where the car was broke into?

Perhaps someone should refresh Mr. Tabman's memory as to the definition of the word "infinite".

You're right, I think that's what we were led to believe. What is reported here makes more sense though.

There are only two 'people' who know the FACTS of this case. One 'person' is the perpertrator(s) - they know ALL the FACTS. The other 'person' is LE - they know ALL the DISCOVERED (so far) FACTS.

I find it absolutely appalling that there are FOUR missing babies (Lisa, Jahessye, Sky and Aliayah) whose mothers are now currently under a dark, dark cloud of suspicion - and that LE seems handcuffed by the 'rights' of everyone EXCEPT the victims. Appalling.

What a discouraging and depressing statement.

eta: this is the second time this has happened this morning. i ask for a link, and then immediately after i find it on my own. gah!
