    ATLANTA (AP) It's the Drought That Stole Christmas.

    Macy's at Atlanta's Lenox Mall must cut down a new Christmas tree after the 60-foot white pine selected for the holidays snapped while being hoisted atop the department store Sunday morning. Melissa Goff with Macy's said the store usually selects its tree from a Georgia forest, but drought conditions have made it difficult to find a healthy tree this year....

    It's a sign from Santa that they shouldn't start Christmas before we're halfway through November.

    They were getting on top of the building to decorate. There is a huge tree lighting ceremony on Thanksgiving night that kicks off the holiday shopping season. It's a really big deal around here. Obviously a tree this large takes a few weeks to get the lights and decorations on in time for that event.
