OR - Rachel Rice, 46, Central Point, 3 Aug 2005

    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/rice_rachel.html

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: August 3, 2005 from Central Point, Oregon
    Classification: Endangered Missing
Date of Birth: June 11, 1959
    Age: 44 years old
    Height and Weight: 5'5, 160 - 165 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Brown hair, blue eyes. Rice has a birthmark in the middle of her chest, a scar on her thumb and pierced ears. Four of her lower teeth are capped, and she had her four upper front teeth pulled out the day before her disappearance. Some agencies give Rice's last name as Decker-Rice.
Clothing Description: White pants, a pink shirt, socks and no shoes.
Medical Conditions: Rice has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and is supposed to take over a dozen prescription medications in four or five daily doses to control the condition. She frequently refuses to take her medicine and may have been off of it at the time she went missing.

    Details of Disappearance

Rice was last seen at approximately 10:00 p.m. on August 3, 2005 in the vicinity of Old Military Road and Old Stage Road in Central Point, Oregon. She went to the home of a childhood friend, Carrie Haskett. Haskett stated Rice appeared dirty and confused and was probably off her medication. Haskett gave her a clean shirt, a straw hat, some chocolate and a bottle of water, but she refused to drive Rice to her father's home several miles away on Snowy Butte Lane. A few minutes after Rice left, Haskett got in her car and tried to find her, but could not. Rice has never been heard from again.
Rice lived in foster homes for twenty years prior to her disappearance; she began living on her own for the first time in her life five months before she went missing because no area foster homes would accept her. Her daughter helped her move into an apartment, but she was evicted shortly before her disappearance. Rice called 911 emergency services or sought treatment in hospital emergency rooms several times after she left foster care. Her daughter stated she had significant problems because of her schizophrenia and had been committed to the state mental hospital at least once. The day before her disappearance, Rice told her daughter she had four teeth pulled out because voices told her to do so. Her daughter recommended she go to a hospital, but Rice refused to do so.

Rice has a history of leaving without warning; her schizophrenia has caused her to walk or hitchhike long distances, discarding her belongings along the way. She had never previously been gone more than four days without contacting her daughter, however. Rice's daughter believes her mother is either deceased or living on the streets. Her case remains unsolved.

Has this UID ever been considered for Rachel?
    https://identifyus.org/en/cases/5963?page=dental
The dates are within a year. The hair, weight and height match. The dentals match as well. There isn't much info on the UID, but what IS there matches. The only thing I don't know is whether or not Rachel had the abdominal scar that the UID has. It's not listed in Charley.

Well, you totally would have nailed it (again!) DylansMom - nice!

Rachel is finally at peace and I hope she did not suffer terribly at the end. I know she endured a lot and I'm sure that her family and friends miss her terribly. May she RIP.

Sounds like all she ever knew was struggles. I hope she has found peace in death. I cannot imagine being her friend living with knowing she'd been alive if she drove her that night.
