Robert Lawrence Wilson, 47, was arrested on Aug. 30 in Lancaster, Calif., and charged with first-degree murder. He will remain in the Los Angeles central jail until extradition to Texas, a Montgomery County Sheriff's Office news release issued Wednesday said.

Wilson was a person of interest in 1990 after authorities learned that he and Bounds once lived in the same apartment complex.

Seven months pregnant, Bounds was last seen alive earlier on June 21, 1990, the day she was found dead, at her apartment on Aldine Mail Route Road in Houston.

Tammy Bounds and her 14-month-old son Christopher went missing June 21, 1990. Later the same day, the toddler was found wandering along the road in a diaper just off FM 2090 west of US 59 in Splendora... Just an hour later, investigators discovered the body of Tammy Bounds in a wooded area near Penny Road in the town. She had been assaulted and strangled to death.

Now 24 years later, Robert Lawrence Wilson, who had previously lived at the same apartment complex as Bounds, has pleaded guilty to her killing in return for the 30-year sentence...

Bounds' son Christopher, now married and expecting a child of his own, said at court that he was disappointed that Wilson had only been charged with one murder. Tammy Bounds was eight months pregnant when she was killed. Her unborn child, who also died in the attack, was named Robert Lee Palmley by the surviving family.
