Woman not reported missing for 4 days, police say
CBC News - Nov 24, 2011 1:20 PM CST
Saskatoon Police investigating the disappearance of a Saskatoon woman are focusing on a 96-hour period between when she was last seen and when a family member reported her missing.

Police are attempting to trace the actions of Dorothy Ann Woods, called Dot by her friends, who was last seen outside her home on Riel Crescent on Remembrance Day.
Woods, 45, has a husband and two children — a teenage daughter and a pre-teen son.

When Woods was seen close to midnight on Nov. 11, she was wearing straight-legged black jeans and a black v-neck sweater.

Stonehouse would not discuss whether there has been activity with Woods' bank account, credit cards or cell phone.

Saskatoon woman reported missing 3 days after last seen
Police wait 2 days to notify public

Police spokesperson Alyson Edwards explained that investigators need time to determine whether an adult left by choice.

“Typically we don’t notify the public of a missing person report involving an adult unless there are suspicious circumstances, which there were in this case.”

Edwards says she isn't aware of police currently conducting a ground search for Woods.

She called the investigation "very sensitive", adding that the police may not want the public to know specific details of the case.

Nov 22, 2011

snipped....

Friends and family of Dorothy Woods continue to search for the missing Saskatoon woman while Saskatoon police investigate a "person of interest" who was arrested on unrelated firearms charges.

Major crimes investigators have interviewed a 49-year-old man who they consider a person of interest in the suspicious disappearance of Woods, 45. The married mother of two was last seen leaving her home in the early morning of Nov. 12 and she has yet to contact family or friends.

The man appeared in Saskatoon provincial court Monday to face numerous firearms charges and charges related to uttering threats in separate incidents. He was remanded and appears in court again today.

The man's address in court documents is the same as Woods's Riel Crescent home, where she also ran the Artsy Fartsy Daycare. He was arrested and charged on Friday. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence and searched it on Friday and Saturday.
