I'm following this one, too, Ms Suzanne. So far I haven't seen anything reported but the article you posted. I'll be checking and will post if I find more information.

Too many, sre. Most of them are listed in this sub-forum.

A couple of additional details, but it's not much.

The medical examiner's office said it will take at least two weeks to make an identification.

    HPD Homicide was investigating.

I thought of Hailey first thing, but it might be too far away. Sadly, there are lots of potential victims to look at.

No news on the female remains yet. I did find reports of a male victim found dead of a gunshot in his car in the 5000 block of Neches on August 25, 2009. He had been shot in the abdomen, and in his lap was a gun wrapped in a towel. I've been unable to locate any follow up reports, so I don't know the victim's name, or if the death was ruled a homicide or a suicide. It's probably unrelated, but I thought I'd note it, anyway.

Here's the link to the HPD news release:

    Houston Chronicle, December 22, 2011
"Officials said she is between 35 years old and 55 years old. She is between 5 feet and 5 feet, 5 inches tall. Her teeth are in poor condition. Some teeth are missing and the remaining teeth have decay.

A black leather Nike athletic shoe was found near her body. Also found with her was a silver cross pendant on a silver chain. The cross was engraved in Spanish."

I thought I'd bump this thread before it gets buried and ask everyone to please take a look at the cross in the photo and keep it in mind when you're reviewing MP listings. Thanks.

Woman’s unidentified remains found in vacant lot in northeast Houston
Houston police need the public's help identifying a woman whose skeletal remains were found on November 30, 2011.

*note height range* "The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined the woman was African American, between 35 to 55 years old and between 5 feet 1 and 5 feet 7 inches tall."

Not many details, but possibly missing from Houston, age and height both at the upper end, but within range:
