Has anyone been able to find a photo of Dennis Hetzel? Im curious to see what this sicko looks like. I think its important for the public to see him as well in the event it jogs any memories regarding other missing persons cases. :twocents:

I found this small article saying that DHs employers pager number was found on the victims body and he had a route in the area were she was found. Also bite marks matched.

However he was ruled out. I found a couple articles but the links didn't work. This one does.

Dennis Ketzel was ruled out by DNA. He was charged and convicted of raping his 5 and 7 year old daughters and apparently died in prison. I haven't found a cause of death yet.

Anna Marie’s head had been bashed in and she was brutally beaten. An autopsy revealed that she had been killed within 48 hours of her disappearance. Disturbingly, the condition of her body clearly indicated that the killer had kept it refrigerated for nearly a month. Michael Berens.

There's a clue in there somewhere. I just can't put my finger on it. I can't figure out how he would be able to keep her in the trailer for so long without her being discovered. My honey drives truck for a big company and the shipper or reciever always unload and load the trailor. Sometimes, the companies use independant lumpers that you pay a fee to, in those cases you could choose to do it yourself. Sometimes the shippers want a seal on the trailor only to be broken by the reciever. Often they switch trailors.

When I asked my guy how could somebody get away with that he suggested that maybe he was a independant owner/operator with a local dedicated route who always went to the same places where he did his own "lumping".

Just thinking out loud I guess.

Just trying to sort out and get to know the victims. It hard to weed through and separate all the victims from all the truck driver killers! Good God there are so many! Please jump right in if you can help clear up the discrepancies.

There is a short thread here on Sharon. She remained uid for two decades

Identified! OH - Austintown (Mahoning County) WhtFem (UP 4764), 35-48, Apr'92 - Sharon Kedzierski - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

She was originaly from Pembroke Pines, Fla., about 15 miles north of Miami.
Authorities say she last had contact with her family in October 1989, when she was 43. She was found dead of blunt force injuries near a parking lot in suburban Youngstown in April 1992.

I remember seeing this on Unsolved Mysteries, in fact, I might have the segment on a Beta tape around here somewhere.

There was also a big article about the case in the June 1992 issue of CrimeBeat Magazine which contained an unrelated article by me as well - the first thing I wrote that I actually got paid for. The July 1992 issue also had a brief update article about the Truckstop Killer. At the time, there was some conjecture that this murderer might be the same guy as the Green River Killer.

Do you have any links that you can share? TIA!

you could say that for sure--as of 2009, it was approximated to be 500 vics from drivers, and the suspect pool was 200--so, by now it must be 600 vics, maybe another 25-30 added to the suspect pool

Sorry, but I don't. I do have the magazines though and perhaps the UM segment if the old Betamax might possibly still work. I can't even find anything right off the top when I google CrimeBeat Magazine. It was a big glossy large-format color magazine like a Life or Look magazine but about true crime. I think it was in business from 1991-1993 and I miss it like I do Unsolved Mysteries on TV.
