    KS - Kennon Landry, 44, Neodesha, 02 December 2011

Official search called off for hunter missing in southeast Kansas (kansascity.com)

Search for missing man planned (Parsons Sun)
The family of a missing 44-year-old Neodesha man is planning a search for him on Saturday and is inviting the public to join.

Sherry Horton of Neodesha, the mother of Kennon Landry's fiancee, said on Friday afternoon that a search for Landry will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at 1300 and Ottawa roads in Wilson County near Altoona. The site is where Landry's wrecked truck was discovered on Dec. 2.
Horton said Landry had been hunting earlier in the morning the day he went missing, but spent some time at a friend's house after hunting. In the afternoon, he called his fiancee and said he would be home soon. Later, he called his fiancee again, Horton said, and told her that he was lost. That was the last she heard of him.

Horton said footprints led from the wreck to the nearby Neosho River.

"We're just praying that's not where he went," Horton said.

Sadly, Mr Landry was found by Equusearch.

The body of a missing man in southeast Kansas has been recovered. A team using sonar scanning located the body of Kennon Landry more than 100 yards from where his pickup had rolled near a river. He was found under brush in about six feet of water

Thanks gliving. Another excellent job by TX Equusearch. They operate quite well when their leader's not concerned with media coverage.
