GRAND PRAIRIE, ALTA. - A two-week-old baby boy became the 100th grandchild in his family this December.
Nine months ago when they announced the pregnancy, Henrys parents Tatjana and Heinrich Urich were carrying on the Urich family tradition of having big families. Henry is their ninth child. Their oldest is 12.
Heinrich is the oldest son and fifth of 16 children and his parents Viktor and Aneta were thrilled when they found out that their daughter-in-law was pregnant.
We were happy and we were waiting for it. We want to have a party in the church with all the family together, Viktor said.
He and his wife, who are in their early 60s, have been living in Grande Prairie for six years.
