Authorities are searching for a missing Arkansas police dispatcher after finding her burned vehicle abandoned in the Ouachita National Forest.
Dawna Natzke, a 46-year-old mother of three, was last seen seen Dec. 21 leaving a Christmas party in Hot Springs Village, where she worked as a police dispatcher, Fox affiliate KLRT-TV reported.

Yikes, this doesn't sound like there will be a good outcome!

Looks like very desolate country around hwy 298. Sure hope she is found.

""She doesn't leave without giving hugs. She loves people," Hathaway said.
But Natzke did that night, with her boyfriend. We spoke with him, but he declined to go on camera, only saying Natzke dropped him off at home, saying she planned to return to the party. But she never arrived.

There are questions KARK continues to have for Village police as well. For two straight days, the point of contact for media at the department has failed to return our calls.

However, according to Lt. James Martin, the Garland County Sheriff's Office has offered to help in any search efforts, but the police department has not requested help from their
deputies."

(There is a video on the page with the article. One pic of Dawna with her arm around a a man if featured at the beginning...I wonder if hr is the boyfriend and if he has connections to the local PD?)

So the BF is the last one to see her? I'd be checking that out. I'm cynical and jaded I know.

Better yet, is her boyfriend LE too? If so..........

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, AR – "Somebody please call," urged Hot Springs Village Police Lt. Ricky Middleton. "We need some help."

~snip~

Hathaway couldn’t get in touch with Natzke, which is very odd. Next thing she heard, police found Natzke's teal green 1997 Ford Escort Wagon off of Highway 298 in the Ouachita National Forest. They found it burnt.

"Oh my God," said Hathaway after hearing the news. "I just couldn't believe it."

Neither could friend Henry Rogers. Now, just like police, he's looking for Natzke.

"I drove through this area," said Rogers while retracing his steps on Highway 298. "There's a hunting lease over here. I drove through it the other morning looking around. That was before I knew they found the car. I was looking for her car."

Now, they've found the car. Rogers is still looking for Natzke.

"If you're not out looking," he said, "you're not gonna find nothing."

I googled Natzke and found he/she run a construction company (small one) at 11 Rota Lane. Unfortunately, I don't know how old the web page is, so I don't know if he still lives there. I think Dawna lives on Rota Lane.

The only possible justification I can see for the local PD taking holiday instead of continuing a search or accepting help from the sheriff's dept. would be if they are pretty sure that forensic evidence would prove that a body was burned inside the vehicle. If the vehicle was burned that bad, a body could have been almost completely consumed. (Total speculation on my part, MOO.)

Still, it is very unprofessional of them not to return media phone calls at all. Refusing to respond to media and refusing help from the sheriff makes the local PD look like there is CYA going on, IMO. I really wish we knew if the boyfriend or ex-hubby was a police officer. Even if he is, we couldn't post it without a valid media link.

I wonder if BF has any witnesses that she dropped him off? Probably not...JMO
