In this article, Lacey is described as 25 years old. She was with a 51 year old acquaintance, Terry K. McDowell.

Lacey live in Lady Lake and was last seen on Railroad Grade Road in Ocala National Forest.
 
Disappearance now called suspicious

Authorities are now calling the disappearance of a 25-year-old drug user suspicious after its been two weeks since an acquaintance said she walked off from him after his truck got stuck in the Ocala National Forest.

New effort to find missing Lake Co. mom

There's a new effort to find a missing mother on Monday. Law enforcement said they had called off their search for Lacey Buenfil, who reportedly disappeared after she and her friend's truck broke down near the Ocala National Forest last month.

Investigators call McDowell a person of interest, and said both of them are drug users.

Investigators said they will be searching on Saturday.

McDowell told investigators they left for the Ocala National Forest to do drugs and his truck got stuck. McDowell said Buenfil went for help and never came back.
'He's given us the appearance of trying to cooperate, but at this point we're trying to nail down his story," said Lt. John Herrell of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

01/18/12 — Lacey Buenfil, age 25, was last seen on December 27, 2011 in the Ocala National Forest, FL. Lacey was last seen wearing a pink and purple shirt. It is not known what other clothes she was wearing. She has a C-Section scar. She was last seen riding in a dark colored truck with FL plates. Lacey Buenfil has been described a meth user and drifter.

But family and friends who know the former Leesburg High School student said she could never just disappear for three weeks. They say the 25-year-old Buenfil talked with her three daughters almost everyday and frequently updated her Facebook page, which is filled with pictures of her 5-, 3- and 1-year-old girls.

Lacey Marie Buenfil, of Lady Lake, was last seen on Railroad Grade Road with Terry K. McDowell, 51, whom deputies described as her aquaintance. Deputies say the pickup truck the two were riding in got stuck in sand near Altoona in rural north Lake County. Rather than wait for help, Buenfil walked away from the truck and hasn't been seen since. Deputies say she was not carrying any food or other supplies.

Some stories say she went to get help, others say she didn't want to wait for help and decided to walk away....
 
HLN Guest said her purse and cell were on the floor of his truck when it got stuck in the sand.
