Pasadena police have confirmed the identity of Edlyn Villegas Munoz, 36, whose naked body was found under an overpass on New Year’s Day.

(Pasadena is an area in South Houston, and is next to I-45 South)

Police said she was found nude with heavy bruising on her face.

(Some articles list her as a white female, and other list her as Hispanic)

I googled her name to see what she looked like, and found that she was arrested in 2010: Munoz, Edlyn Villegas (W F, 35) Arrest on charge of Warrant - Agency (M), at 1114 Davis, Pasadena, TX, on 12/24/2010.

Pasadena police seek clues in woman's death
By ZAIN SHAUK, HOUSTON CHRONICLE
Updated 10:38 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2012

Her body, which appeared to be bruised and beaten, was found near one of four columns under the bridge. It was in a concrete portion of the bayou, with most of her body against the inclined bank, Mitchell said.

A man who identified himself as Munoz's husband told KHOU (Channel 11) she was studying to become a real estate agent.

Zermeno told KHOU the couple had been celebrating Saturday night at a strip club on Spencer Highway.

They got into an argument, and he walked home after midnight without her, he said. She stayed with her girlfriends, who said she followed him on foot a few minutes later.

Husband of slain woman hires attorney
Pasadena_Final_0102.jpg

PASADENA, Texas – The husband of a mother of seven found murdered on Sunday has hired an attorney as police track down new leads.

Zermeno has not been charged with anything, and police won’t comment on whether he’s a person of interest.

Adamo said his client was "very emotional" and had wanted some advice during a very difficult time. He added that it was not unusual for spouses of murder victims to hire a lawyer while answering questions from police.
