Merle Haggard Returns to Hospital for Treatment

The 74-year-old checked himself out Friday to make the drive home to Redding, Calif., on his tour bus, but returned a few hours later. Spokeswoman Tressa Redburn says Haggard quickly realized he wasn't up to the trip after checking himself out of the hospital too early.

Haggard is now undergoing a more aggressive antibiotic treatment for pneumonia.
 
Poor Sinead has always been such a tortured soul, and yet despite - or because of - her own past she has always been a staunch voice against child abuse. I hope her hospitalization gets her stabilized and back with her family and on the road to wellness ASAP.

Good thoughts for Merle too. Sounds like someone needs to make sure he gets the rest he needs!
 
Although his representative said the pneumonia is "almost completely clear," the singer is now recovering from "three stomach ulcers, the removal of eight polyps from his colon and diverticulitis in his esophagus," all of which were discovered at the Macon hospital.

Haggard will likely be released from the hospital within a week, and his spokesperson said that the 74-year-old will "be back up and running in 30 days."
