Might abridge title to tell us "gruesome Conn." what? (And "eating the victim's eyeball" - that's plenty gruesome, lol. Glad I already finished the olives I had, yesterday.)

wow, mental health issues, sounds like at first blush. So sad for the man, Angel. If Smith is to be believed, Angel was trying to assist and invited him inside after finding him on the porch.

RIP Angel. Prayers for his family.

Thread: Most interesting classic unsolved murder cases

This thread currently has over 350 cases with a brief synopsis of each and we are still adding additional cases.

You can access a spreadsheet that lists the cases in alphabetical order with the page & post number so that you can locate a particular case you may be interested in. It also contains links to any cases that already have a thread on WS.

Many cases do not have a thread. Please feel free to start one in the appropriate forum if you would like to look into one. Should you start a thread on one of these cases, please let me know so that I can add the link to the spreadsheet.

Fla. Man Draws 60 Years in Conn. Cannibalism Case

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/f...-case-20208569

A Florida man who killed a vagrant with an ax and ate his brain and eyes has been committed to a maximum-security psychiatric hospital in Connecticut after being found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Tyree Lincoln Smith, 36, of Lynn Haven, Fla., was ordered committed Monday by a three-judge panel in Bridgeport Superior Court. The panel in July found him not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect........

The citizens of the United States of America have a right to applaud themselves for having given to mankind examples of an enlarged and liberal policy—a policy worthy of imitation......which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance.......George Washington
