OAKLAND -- A 15-year-old boy has admitted to killing his parents and hiding their bodies underneath blankets in the family's car parked outside their Oakland home, police said Saturday.

Police arrested the juvenile, whom this newspaper is not naming because he is a minor, on suspicion of murder after speaking to him earlier in the day. He told investigators he killed Robert Kamin, 54, and Susan Poff, 50 -- a longtime couple who recently moved into the neighborhood -- on Thursday and hid their bodies in the home, a police source said.

Police are not releasing the cause of death until a Monday autopsy nor releasing what the high school freshman's motive may have been.

I saw this on the news last night and there's barely a peep about it now.

It's a very scary thought that you should fear your teenager. I fear Mr. zig's son. He doesn't live with us anymore but I still lock the bedroom door and keep a bat handy.

Will be interesting to see what the factors might have been...drugs, medications, anger issues???

Very sad.

How very sad.

Robert Kamin's dissertation at link. He thanked the love of his life Susan and looked forward to life after dissertation as he called it. It appears he also struggled with issues with his own dad which he hoped to work on.

According to reports, the boy is a black belt in karate and was fascinated by violent video games. He and his parents were arguing over the amount of time he spent at the Occupy Oakland encampment. He allegedly strangled them, hid their bodies in the car and may have tried to set it on fire.

There's so much wrong with this story, I don't know where to begin.

The article states they adopted him 10 years ago and then go on to call him their foster son.. Bad reporting? When the police did the welfare check, they didn't notice the partially charred car? The SF Gate article says they were both strangled; I'm having a hard time figuring out how he could strangle them both without incapacitating them in some other way. The details coming out of this are thin.

According to "authorities", he strangled his mother then waited for his father to come home, when he strangled him.
