As a young girl I visited this area. My brother was in the State Dept as Vice Consulate in Lima. This article brings back many memories as in 2 summers I went down there and was fortunate enough to go deep into the jungle with he and his wife. My first visit I was 10 full of energy, wonderment and sometimes fear. Villages full of snake cages, indians that wanted to touch my blond hair while they were barely clad in nothing but a loin cloth, including the women.
Obviously we didn't go this deep into the jungle but I would like some part of this earth to remain as wild and natural as possible.
For me this is a fascinating article.
