TN - Bill Payne, 36, & Billie Hayworth, 23, murdered, Johnson County, 31 Jan 2012

    Johnson County, Tenn.

    http://www.wsmv.com/story/16650692/p...n-mothers-arms

Just after 10 Tuesday morning a family friend who once lived there had stopped by to pick up his mail. Once inside he made a gruesome discovery,Bill Payne, Jr. and Billie Hayworth were both dead.

The couple's eight month-old baby was found in the middle of the crime scene. "The male that came in and found them said the baby was in the mother's arms," said Reece. The baby was taken to the hospital, but Sheriff Reece says he is safe

Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece told the Johnson City Press that 36-year-old Billy Payne Jr. was found in his bedroom in the clothes he had slept in. Twenty-three-year-old Billie Jean Hayworth was in the baby's room.

The couple lived with Billy Payne Sr. who said he saw Hayworth get up to feed the baby before he left for work at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The slayings were discovered about five hours later.

WoW just night before last I was combing thru older, Unsolved cases and stumbled upon a case identical to this.. Even down to the baby left alive with his dead parents and there being no signs of forced entry.. Along with the fact that their bodies, too were discovered quickly by someone who was stopping by the home that morning to pick up something..I mean it's so very eerily similar, but I know there's no way it could possibly be related as not only was it clear across the country, but most importantly it is almost certain that it was a scorned ex wife who had murdered the couple in the Unsolved case.. Just that years later they are still unable to prove it therefor she walks a free woman today..*shakes head*

Had to mention it as its just to wild of a coincidence, but does in fact certainly appear to be just that, a coincidence..

So, due to my knowledge of this other case and the perp being the actual individual who just happened to come by their house that morning to "pick something up" and "discovered" their bodies and the alive baby in the middle of the crime scene.. It's making me have big questions about the guy who happened by this home discovering the dead couple and their precious 6mo old baby.. I wonder if it's really as innocent as it sounds in his dropping by that morning.. Hard to know at this point(I've only been able to read just the one article)..

Blondy, would you mind paraphrasing for me what's being discussed in the comment section under the article??.. Unfortunately via mobile and it will not pull up the comment section on their mobile site..

Am anxious to hear any other tidbits to see where this case appears to be headed.. I certainly pray that they have a much quicker resolution and closure to this case unlike the other case I spoke of.. When I get a chance I'll search back and post a link to the eerily similar Unsolved case here at WS..

Still posting via mobile so plz forgive the large number of errors in my posts

    Great picture at the article.

    Revenge for what I wonder.

Smooth Operator I'll go back and check the comments and see if I can give a condensed version. I know many were grief stricken and this was a hard working fellow and the family was well thought of.

They look pretty clean cut. Cute family. Sheriff was hoping for an arrest tonight. There were valuables in the home and nothing was stolen.

This is a case that happened here in SW Florida quite a few years ago. Steven and Michelle Andrews were murdered in their home, but their young son was left unharmed. It was a revenge murder.

When I read this story, it was the first thing that popped in my mind?

It is a crime Reece will certainly remember. The lawman who has been sheriff since 2006 called the crime the “worst I have ever seen.” It was so terrible he thought it must be a revenge killing. But that is just another puzzling piece of a case that doesn’t yet make any sense.
Reece said the killings took place in a peaceful neighborhood that includes a state trooper’s residence nearby.

The last person to see the couple alive on Tuesday was Billy Payne Sr. The couple and their child lived in the elder Payne’s home. He told investigators he left the house at 5:30 a.m. for his job in Boone, N.C. Payne said when he was leaving he saw Hayworth had gotten up to feed her child.

I think it had to be someone who came right after Billy's dad left to go to work. They had to know the routine.

Info from some of the comments.

Billy's stepfather said that Billy worked 12 hrs a day and had an 8 month old son. He said his mother was grieving and he couldn't imagine what Billy's father was feeling.

One of the comments was that they must have known the perp because they let him in...no sign of forced entry or robbery.

The story I referenced above, to make a long story short...

Steven Andrews (victim) was having an affair with Fred Cooper's (murderer) girlfriend and mother to his child. Fred Cooper went to the home and murdered both Steven and his wife, Michelle Andrews. He didn't harm the baby boy.

It has to be someone that at least one of them knew? If they are already convinced, based on the crimescene, that it was a revenge killing? I feel awful for their family and hope that they get whoever did this ASAP!

I wonder if the fact that Billy had his throat cut indicates the perp had it in for Billy.

    http://www2.tricities.com/news/2012/...er-ar-1657430/

    (snip)
Someone shot Bill Payne, Junior and his girlfriend, Billie Jean Hayworth in the head. Payne's throat was also cut.
A family friend discovered the murder victims in their home on James Davis Lane, in the quiet Doe Valley community, Tuesday.
“We don't have any suspects at this time. We do not have a motive for this,” explains Reece. “Nobody has a problem with this boy. Everybody liked him. Everybody got along but as you know there's somebody out there that did have a problem.”
