Police seeking information about missing barista

Anchorage police are looking for a missing 18-year-old woman last seen at the Midtown coffee stand where she worked, police say.

Police believe Samantha Koenig locked up Common Grounds Espresso, outside the Midtown Alaska Club at 630 E. Tudor Road, about 8 p.m. Wednesday at the end of her shift. Koenig's family, her boyfriend and her employer have not heard from her since, said police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker.

Court records show Koenig filed for a protective order against a man in November but failed to show up at court. The order was not issued.

I believe I found the guy she filed a restraining order against -- CB. I don't know whether I can post the link, but he was charged with breaking and entering in Jacksonville, NC in 2009. I pretty sure it's him, because Intelius gives locations for him in both Jacksonville, NC and Anchorage, AK and the age is right.

NBC affiliate KTUU reports that APD spokesperson Lt. Dave Parker says Samantha Koenig was working at Common Grounds Espresso when she was last seen at 8 p.m. Authorities say her shift ended at that time, but she was not there when her boyfriend came to pick her up.

Law enforcement officials are looking at the surveillance video from the coffee stand and possibly a nearby business. At this time, there is no evidence of foul play, police say.

Thank you, I was coming to post this. One of my closest friends posted this on FB.

Doesn't sound good, but I'm praying!

Sorry to post this again, but I have some questions:

What time did Samantha's boyfriend arrive at the coffee stand to pick her up? Surely, she wouldn't have locked up sooner than 8:00 and, unless he was delayed for some reason, her BF would've arrived soon after 8:00. That's a very narrow time frame for something to happen to Samantha.

Was there sign of a struggle, e.g., was Samantha's purse at the scene? If not, have LE checked dumpsters in the area? Has anyone tried calling her cell phone?

Her dad reported her missing at 1:00 the following afternoon. Was there a search by the BF and family right away? Did they call her friends? Talk to people in nearby businesses? The BF would have known something was wrong immediately when she wasn't at the coffee shop when he arrived.

Regarding "no ongoing strife at home," I wonder if Samantha lived with her parents, or with her BF. If the former is true, her parents would have expected her home that night, I think, or did she sometimes go out and stay out late with friends after work? I'm not suggesting that no one tried looking for Samantha between Wednesday at 8:00 P.M. and Thursday at 1:00 P.M., I'm just wondering what measures the family and friends took in that time frame to search for her.

Koenig's father reported her missing about 1 p.m. Thursday, Parker said. There was no indication of ongoing strife at home, he said.

Wow it's a teeny, tiny little drive-thru business in a big parking lot. I'm not sure how to link it, but you can look at the street view on Google Maps. The address is 630 East Tudor Road, Anchorage AK.

Samantha's moniker on MySpace is ridethe907ak.

I googled Ride the 907 AK, and found that it refers to touring, snowmobiles, dogsledding, viewing glaciers, viewing wildlife on/off Seward Highway.

Sounds like great opportunities for outdoor adventures!

I wonder if this could be an avenue of sleuthing?

Last night I found a lot of posts she made on other's myspace accounts. Today they are not popping up?

Samantha Koenig's father, James Koenig, says he has reason to believe his daughter was abducted from Common Grounds Espresso, in the parking lot outside the Midtown Alaska Club at 630 E. Tudor Road.

Police are being tight-lipped about their investigation, even with Samantha's family, James Koenig said. But Koenig said the investigators have evidence showing Samantha was kidnapped.

"They told me I need to start worrying because something serious happened," he said

current time in AK as I post this is 1050

According to Lt. Dave Parker, there’s no specific evidence to call it an abduction, but they do say the circumstances are “suspicious.”

APD is actively searching and following up on leads, where they might find evidence, Parker said.

As of Friday morning, police said they did not have surveillance video of Common Grounds Espresso, where Koenig was last seen 8pm Wednesda
