WA - FBI looks into possible serial killer behind Bremerton murders

The three attacks happened over the last nine months, all in west Bremerton and within one mile of each other. A 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death in May, a male victim was attacked and survived in June, and a 61-year-old-woman was killed just two weeks ago.

Just when I think that I have seen the most depraved things a human can do to another human, somebody posts a new story...........

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

Person of interest in Bremerton crimes lacks some qualities typical of serial killers

Just the fact he's young is unusual, said Dr. Jack Levin, a criminologist and sociologist at Northeastern University in Boston who has studied serial killers for three decades. Often, serial killers are middle-aged men.

I disagree with several points in the article, lol. On the fact that him being young points away from the suspect being a serial killer. Yes serial killers are often middle aged men, but often they have been killing for many years when they are finally caught.

Note was made of the two murders and the attempt being in a triangle was pretty funny actually. Any time you have three separate locations, they are going to form a triangle.

The fact that serial killers usually stick to one gender is well taken. But that is merely what is common, different genders is not unknown.

Not a fan of profiling though it's very interesting. The only thing all serial killers have in common is that they serially kill.

Miguel Scott, 19, has also been missing from Bremerton since October.

Hoping he is not another victim.

Police: Serial killer responsible for June knife attack

Cobb may be the only victim to survive a run in with a serial killer who police believe has already murdered two women.

Cobb was walking by himself when he said it felt like he was "whacked in the back of the head."

That whack was actually a knife being plunged into his neck...

Not to take away from the possible serial killer discussion, but Bremerton's got all sorts of problems... You'd think they'd be a little more cautious with the possible serial killer running around. Not even considering any teen as missing...

Parents: authorities won’t help find children

“If a 15-year-old female is sick of mom and dad’s rules and runs away to party or be with her boyfriend and then shows up two or three days later, that’s not something that we’re going to look into,” said deputy Scott Wilson, spokesman for Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. “They’re not actually missing.”

Wilson said that in 2011, there were approximately 236 cases of teens reported “missing” by their families in Kitsap County, “almost one for every day.”

However, a teen must fall within a five-point criteria to be deemed missing and not just a “runaway” by the Sheriff’s Office and Bremerton Police Department.

    [snip]

Fisher said that there are “currently no missing children in the City of Bremerton” according to their definition. The last missing person was in 2006. (My note - This would be Joe Pichler... And the line about no missing children since is complete BS.)

Surveillance in serial killer case draws mixed reaction

News that a person of interest in the Bremerton serial killer investigation is under round-the-clock surveillance by police, combined with the fact that surveillance video shows him purchasing a knife shortly before one of the attacks, drew a bit of a mixed reaction from Bremerton residents this week.
