They think she may be in Little Rock. Told her mom she was going for a walk and never returned.

Suspect Lloyd Jones (36), level 3 sex offender, groomed Angela on line, texting, met with her Saturday. He's in jail right now for aggravated assault stemming from this case. There was a physical confrontation with victim. They're searching for her in a specific area -- river bottoms (in river and surrounding area.) Looking also for cell phones and "other items."


Well, obviously this is bad.

ETA I corrected this because I'd written that they were looking for the truck, but they have the truck.
 
Suspect previously convicted of rape of an adult. Suspect is the last person who probably saw her. They clarified they have the truck and they have the suspect, but they're putting out pictures to help find any witnesses.
 
The officer told the reporter that he would give them the name of the grandmother off camera, which he did, although it could be heard in the background through other live microphones......then he asked the reporter NOT to print it yet.

I believe the river bottom they are searching is near Lavaca in Sebastian County.
 
nvestigators believe Allen and Jones met on a social media site and arranged a meeting. The two had been communicating via text messages for several days, says Crawford County Sheriff Ron Brown.Sheriff Hollenbeck says information obtained from Jones has led them to begin searching the river and bottoms north of Lavaca. Jones is believed to live in that area.
Neighbors of the Allen family say they've seen Jones' small white single cab pick-up truck in the area before. Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the two together call the Van Buren Police Department at (479) 474-1234.

Sebastian County deputies found human remains in a barrel on a property that belongs to the family of convicted rapist Lloyd Jones Friday night. Jones is being held in connection with the disappearance of 16-year-old Angela Allen of Van Buren.
Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck says they cannot confirm if the remains are Allen's. In fact, he says they can't tell if the remains found on the property off Highway 96 in Lavaca are male or female.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Jones at his Lavaca residence, and he was transported to Van Buren for an interview, Hollenbeck said. During that interview, Jones, who is believed to be the last person to see Allen, directed investigators to the Mudtown Bottoms north of Lavaca.

According to an affidavit for a probable cause arrest, Jones met Allen in the early evening hours of Feb. 10 and transported her to the river bottoms. Jones then took her to the Arkansas River’s edge and struck her with both hands, according to the affidavit. The strike caused Allen to fall into the river’s water, which was cold enough to “possibly cause hypothermia,” according to the affidavit.

Investigators have confirmed human remains found buried in a plastic barrel Friday night are female with clothing "consistent" with what a missing Van Buren teen was wearing the night she went missing.

Investigators will have to wait for an autopsy, which will begin Tuesday at the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, to determine the identity of the remains and a cause of death, Sebastian County Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck said at a 2 p.m. news conference at the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators were at the property east of Lavaca on Arkansas 96 searching for Angela Allen, 16, who has been missing since Feb. 10.

"I would hate to state or lead us on a path that yes, 100 percent, this was our victim," Hollenbeck said.

When deputies searched the property, they say they found an area of disturbed dirt near an outbuilding, where a cadaver dog indicated human remains were buried.

When investigators began to dig they found a barrel with a body inside it.

Officials say the body is a female and the clothing she was wearing matches the clothing worn by 16-year-old Angela Allen, who disappeared from her Van Buren home more than a week ago.

Nancy Grace is covering the show now. She is saying that LE said they do not believe the owners of the property where Angela's body was found are responsible, nor did they know her body was on the property..
