This is the same county Summer Thompson is from.
Sad time. Officers trying to do meth lab bust and 1st officer in shot in head.
Officer dead, shooter dead. Another officer shot in arm in surgery.
Several other persons in custody.
So sad for this officer who leaves behind wife and children.

How sad. These types of stories are becoming more and more common. For this first time in a long time, our society has a drug that can be made at home and look at what it is doing to us.

Detective David White was shot and killed during a meth house raid on Feb. 16, 2012. Early this month Ryan Wilder, 33, was found guilty of first-degree felony murder in White's death, along with second-degree murder in the death of Ted Tilley, who was killed by Clay County deputies during the incident...

Wilder didn't fire the shots that killed either White or Tilley, but since he was convicted of drug charges in the same incident, under Florida law he is responsible for the deaths that occurred.

Three years after detective David White was killed and a second detective was wounded in a Clay County meth house raid, a woman who was at the house pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder and other charges and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

Chasity Elaine Prescott, 38, will be the second person to be sent to prison in the February 2012 shooting of White, 35, and detective Matthew Hanlin, who was with White at the front door of the Middleburg house when they were shot from inside.

A Fourth Judicial Circuit Court judge has sentenced a Middleburg teen to five years of probation in connection with the February 6, 2012 shooting death of Clay County Sheriff’s Office Det. David White.

Judge Don H. Lester sentenced Jerry Fred Daniels, 19, after he accepted a plea agreement admitting guilt to one count each of manslaughter, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of codeine...

Jennifer Michelle Stamm Alder, 41, of St. Augustine, entered a plea agreement on April 30 in which she was sentenced to two, concurrent 30-year sentences for two counts of second-degree murder. She was also handed three, 15-year sentences for three counts of attempted second-degree murder. The judge also handed Alder a 30-year sentence for trafficking methamphetamine.
