This is the second time in the past year that skeletal remains of an unidentified black female were found in that area. The other case is detailed in the thread linked below:

I can only come up with one black woman in that age range missing from the state of Kansas.

    Arnika Miller

Cheney KS is about 165 miles from Topeka.

    Bizarre story:
Investigators have solved the mystery of a human skull found near Cheney. Officials tell Eyewitness News someone who used to live at the property where the skull was found says they buried the skull in the yard.

That former resident says the skull had been in their family's possession since it was left on their parents' doorstep in Circleville, Kansas on Halloween night back in 1949.

I put this as resolved but maybe I jumped the gun. Is it resolved? Is it an academic skull? Or ?????

I'd say it's probably resolved. That story sounds so unlikely that it's probably true.

Returning this thread to the UID area. Police want help in identifying this UID skull.

Jackson County sheriff’s officials are seeking the public’s help in identifying a human skull that formerly belonged to a family in the Circleville area that was found recently in Sedgwick County.

....the skull had been in a Circleville-area family’s possession since 1949.
