Judy was a beautiful 17-year-old who had just gotten off work as a waitress. Normally her boyfriend gave her a ride home, but he wasn't able on this day. She decided to walk home that night. She stopped by a mini mart for gum and went on her way. She never made it home.

When her body was found, she was naked with just a jacket and shoes. Her waitress uniform was laying near her body in perfect condition and folded. She had been sexually assaulted. She was shot twice, once in the shoulder and once in the head. There is evidence that she tried to escape and had been hiding when she was killed.

The DNA evidence had been submitted in 2006 for better analysis, but nothing has come from it yet.

Judy was outgoing and it is believed she may have known her killer. It could have very easily been a patron who frequented where she worked. The fact that the waitress uniform was in perfect condition and folded near her, I have to think that it played a part in the sick fantasy of this individual. After 43 years, there is STILL a good chance this killer is still alive and justice can be served. Just need that ONE piece of evidence to put it all together!

Someone ALWAYS knows .....

Information from an article on page 8-A of the Dayton Daily News on May 2nd, 1976.
  • On Nov 20th, her mother received an anonymous phone call from someone repeating the words, "Your daughter is dead."
  • According to the coroner's report, Judy died around noon on Dec 6th.
  • On Dec 6th, the owner of the service station adjacent to Plantation Country Club heard gunshots.
There's more, but that's what stood out to me.

So she didn't die on the day she disappeared ? It means her killer kept her captive, which is even worst..
That poor girl went through hell before death...

The timeline as I understand it is:

November 15th - Judy disappears sometime during her walk home from work. The last official sighting is when she stops at a nearby convenience store to buy gum.

November 20th - Around 2:30, Judy's mother receives an anonymous phone call from someone who repeats the words "Your daughter is dead" until she hangs up on them.

November 27th - Around 9 pm, Judy's boyfriend, Ron Hobbs, receives a phone call at the school he works at. Someone is on the other end but doesn't say anything. He thinks it's Judy, as she would customarily call him around that time.

December 6th - Around noon, Judy is murdered at the old Plantation Country Club. The owner of the service station adjacent to the property hears two or three gunshots, which he assumes to be from hunters.

December 8th - In the morning, a white van is seen leaving the country club grounds. Late in the afternoon, a father and daughter looking for metal discover Judy's body.

Information from an article on page 19-A of the Dayton Daily News on December 14th, 1975.
  • Two people are quoted saying that Judy would not willingly get into a stranger's car.
  • In September, she had been "absent from home" one night and was listed as missing. She was returned home by the police.
