State Police divers searched the Chestnut Hill Reservoir today for about four hours and found no sign of a Boston College student who went missing last week, but they plan to return tomorrow to continue their search, the agency said this afternoon.

Boston —State Police may have called off their search for a missing Boston College student, but friends of Franco Garcia are still on the hunt for the West Newton man.

The Newton Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 21-year-old Franco Garcia of West Newton, Ma. Mr. Garcia was last seen on Wednesday February 22, 2012 at approximately 12:15a.m. inside the Mary Ann’s bar, which is located at 1937 Beacon Street (Cleveland Circle) Brighton, Ma.
Since that time, Franco, who is a Boston College evening student has not attended classes or shown up for work in Waltham. His vehicle remains at Boston College, where he parked it on February 21, 2012. His family and friends state that it is highly unusual for him not to contact anyone for this amount of time. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve white and blue striped shirt and jeans. Anyone having any information is urged to contact the Newton Police Department at 617-796-2100 or the Detective Division at 617-796-2104.
