Med students turning to prostitution to pay tuition

    http://vitals.msnbc.msn.com/_news/20...to-pay-tuition

I think it's so sad that the Gilgo 4 & Gilbert chose the profession they did. They all seemed like they had such potential to be something more. The lure of "easy money" was just too great I guess.

Thats so true! Im a student & you wont believe how many students I know who are "dancers" & a few are doing extras. Its quite scary cos if I dont see one at uni for a few days I do start to think that mabye something bad has happened, connected to their jobs.

There are basically two types of escorts. The backpage escorts are one type and the other type are those who use more discrete methods for meeting clients and are considered upscale. Backpage escorts don't screen their clients or require a reference. Some may take the time to google the potential clients phone number to make sure it isn't LE but that is about it as far as screening goes. The backpage escort is usually into drugs and will see many clients to be able to buy drugs. Backpage escorts have lower rates so that they get more volume. The upscale escorts only see clients that have references from another escort who will vouch for the client that they are safe to see. There are screening websites that clients and escorts can join to meet. Both clients and escorts must be checked out and approved before granted membership to the screening websites. This type of escort has a higher rate and less volume but is at a lower risk of meeting a dangerous client. If any of those girls you go to school with are your friend, you may want to give them some advice if they don't already know. Screen screen screen.

I found this blog entry and the comments that follow quite interesting. Maybe someone else will, also.

Thanks for sharing the blog. What a lack of compassion by DA Spota when he said "their deaths were a direct result of their involvement in prostitution". Blame the victims instead of the sick piece of garbage who killed them. How did this guy get to be DA.

Cherries intrigue me. Probably nothing, but I do make note of the fact that SG and another recovered body both had tattoo's of cherries. And of course, we have good old Cherri Bombs.

We know that prostitutes are often branded. We know that Cherri Bombs is a front for illegal prostitution. The coincidence just makes me wonder. But like I said...probably nothing.

Less than an hour from Gilgo Beach. There are 45 sex offenders living in one small Long Island town, 17 on the same block, 7 in a single suburban ranch. Inside a sex-
offender cluster. 'Doubt that they all have ankle monitors. But, there is a list of "Mickey's Rules".

I read somewhere in all our sleuthing research that cherries are very popular for tattoos.

I read that too. I don't really know why the cherries bug me so much. No doubt a subconscious thing. They mean something in my mind, but no doubt nothing to do with this case.

Just one of those things that keep nagging at you, I guess, despite your best efforts to reason it away.

I have a real question who knows about crime scene investigation..
Why did LE clear all the grass, reeds, growth etc, away from this skeleton, but there is a bat sized piece of drift wood still there on the skeleton seemingly as part of the evidence.
