Parker County kidnapping leads investigators to look at cases of two other women who vanished, including suspect’s wife

The woman had been bound, raped and probably tortured, said Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler, adding, “I hope to never see it again.”

An affidavit listed a bed with chains, leather restraints and sexual devices among items seized from the home. An investigator connected to the case reported seeing an electric winch used for stringing up animal carcasses.

I'd just like to point out that this guy was free from the time of his wife's disappearance in the early 1980's up until his arrest in March of 2011. If anyone has information about what kind of work he did, or whether or not he traveled, etc, please post it. I can't find information about his occupation, but see that he resided in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

We can see that he is a repeat offender of a serious nature, especially having taken the time and effort to construct a concealed torture chamber in his home...

Jeffrey Allan Maxwell Trial: Texas Torture Victim Lois Pearson Calls Survival 'Miracle'

WEATHERFORD, Texas -- After searching more than a week for a woman who seemingly vanished after her house burned down, authorities finally got a lead: Jeffrey Allan Maxwell.

When investigators knocked on Maxwell's door the next day, Lois Pearson was inside, praying. Since her abduction 12 days earlier, she had been chained to the bed every night. She had been whipped and sexually assaulted on a bar with hooks for skinning hogs and deer. When Maxwell left the house, he kept her shackled and gagged and once locked her in a wooden box. Maxwell had told her that she soon wouldn't believe in God anymore

Jeffrey Allan Maxwell Guilty Of Kidnapping, Torturing Ex-Neighbor in Texas

She testified last week that Maxwell abducted her from her rural home at gunpoint March 1 after beating her in the face and shackling her hands and legs. Then he drove 100 miles away to his Corsicana house, 50 miles south of Dallas. She was rescued 12 days later when authorities went to question him about her disappearance after her house burned down.

Jeffrey Allan Maxwell was initially vague about how the woman got to his Corsicana home, about 50 miles south of Dallas, and said they had consensual sex during what he said was a four-day stay. But gradually he acknowledged that he'd held her captive and caused the severe bruises visible on the woman when she was rescued last March.

Texas Man Charged in Kidnapping, Torture of Woman May Have Kidnapped Before

The arrest of a man in the kidnapping of a 62-year-old Texas woman has led investigators to re-examine the disappearance of two other women, one of them the suspect's former wife who vanished 19 years ago. Jeffrey Allan Maxwell, 58, was arrested Saturday after Parker County Police visited his Corsicana, Texas home to follow up on a tip about Maxwell's car. The suspect's car had been spotted at the missing woman's home when it mysteriously burned down March 3. Her car was also burned.

I would also like to point out that this woman has changed her story several times. When police first arrived, she stated that he was a friend and had not harmed her.

She's stated that because she was a virgin prior to this event, she wasn't sure what he was doing to her. She also stated that she didn't call for help, despite having access to a phone, because she did not know how to use a cell phone.

Something about her story doesn't quite add up, like maybe she was somehow involved with him in some way and he turned on her.

Her friends said she was a recluse and referred to him as "the bad man". They said she was afraid of him. I wonder if she had emotional problems. After what she went through she probably did for certain. She could have been traumatized.

I wonder if he was a hunter. Why would he have a board that is used for deers. I don't hunt and haven't been around it so I can't picture what that is referring to.

To be 62-years-old and not know that she was being sexually assaulted, she'd have to have mental problems, as well. Also, to not be able to figure out how to use a cell phone...again, mental problems.

Years ago my ex got a cell phone. And he wasn't the type to share. I had no idea how to use it, I just knew when I 'dialed' a number nothing happened. When I got my own cell phone, I had to learn how to use it. I don't find her statement that she didn't know how to use a cell phone odd at all if she had never had one.

And I agree she was most likely traumatized. Inital fear, shock, confusion will make them deny. Often they are in pain, maybe starved. Who does she trust? What if she says yes he hurt me, then LE doesn't take him away?

By the time LE showed up I'm sure she was totally traumatized and in a state of shock. I don't think she was a willing participant.
