ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -Asheville Police released new information Monday about a mother of five who has been missing for nearly four months.

Pickens was described as black, 5'4" and 155 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. She also has several tattoos - one of Chinese letters on her chest, one that reads "Eric" on her upper back and one that features the Gemini sign on her leg.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
April Pickens, 29, was last seen Dec. 26, 2011, near her home at Pisgah View Apartments in Asheville North Carolina.
On the afternoon of Dec. 26,2011 April left to meet a male friend and never returned. She left behind her 5 young children. April’s family states that it is unlike her to leave her children and her family and believes that someone knows what has happened to her. No one has seen her or heard from her since.

Her case remains unsolved.

Family seeking information on missing mother of five, April Pickens

April Pickens was last seen December 26, 2011 in Asheville, North Carolina. Since her disappearance, police and her family have been searching for the mother of five.

Her mother, Anita Carson said the holidays are still tough for the entire family.

"I don't even like Christmas no more. I used to love it," said Carson. "I'm not feeling Christmas, I don't think I'll ever feel like it no more.

Carson says she holds onto hope that her daughter is still alive.

"Just turn her loose, said Carson, Bring her to her family, her kids. We miss her."

They just want closure, either way.

If they could find out which the man was that she was meeting, I think he knows what happened to her. It sounds fishy that she would just up and walk away from her 5 children and family.
