Baby found inside basement crawlspace; home daycare operator arrested
WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -
Police in Waterbury arrested the operator of a home daycare after a Department of Health inspector said a 6-month-old was found strapped to a car seat in a basement crawlspace behind a locked door.
The girl was discovered while the inspector was conducting an inspection of the home, police said, and the baby was without food and had not been changed.
Police arrested Catalina Reyes, 54, and charged her with risk of injury to a minor.
Police said Reyes was trying to hide the baby from the inspector who had showed up unannounced after receiving a complaint.

Not fed, no water, no diaper change, unsupervised in a flippin crawl space. O.K. that's just great.
In all honesty if she did that who is to say those poor kids haven't been sitting in those car seats for hours at a time anyway?

That baby was in that scary place for FOUR FREAKING hours! That's how long the inspection people were there.
Good God. I am so thankful I don't have to choose someone to entrust my boys to. SAHM here, and very appreciative that I do have that choice.Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean.
We are all just trying to make sense of an unimaginable crime.
