Police Searching for Missing Coral Springs Woman

Police believe she could be in danger.

Shortly after a Coral Springs woman visited a bank on University Drive on Friday at around 1 p.m., she disappeared.
Now, they are asking for help in finding her.

She was last believed to be seen walking eastbound across US 441 at Copans Road in Margate about an hour later.
Since then Murphy and her black 2005 BMW convertible have been missing and she has not been heard from.

Police say they have reason to believe she may be in danger but would not give any further details.

Frank Murphy said he has put up fliers, checked with hospitals and done everything in his power to find his wife, but police had no leads on Sunday night.

"We're baffled," he said. "Honestly we've done everything we can do, to the point where we just don't know what else to do. There's not much more you can do."

Local woman still missing, feared in danger

Frank Murphy, her husband, said he has "no idea" what could have happened to her. "We're looking for you, and we're not going to give up," he said. "We want you back."

Her husband said he has spent the past couple of days worrying about the whereabouts of his wife of nine years. Monday, he, along with friends and family, spent the morning handing out flyers with her picture on it

Since her disappearance, the family's home has become a command center for the beloved wife and sister. "This is so unbearable, this situation" said Martha Valderrama.

Murphy did not take her cell phone before she went missing on Friday. Her credit cards and Sunpass shows they have not been used. "It's crazy," said the husband. "It's absolutely crazy. I can't explain."

The husband noted the couple were preparing to make a big move to Nashville. "Ready to go," he said. "We were packing. We went up. We have a house already rented."

Family discusses missing Coral Springs woman's disappearance

In the morning hours before she vanished, Maria Claudia Murphy was home brewing coffee and appeared in good spirits, her husband recalls.

Before Frank Murphy, her spouse of nine years, left for work Friday morning, they kissed, he said. By the time he returned home from work that afternoon, she was gone, he said.

On Monday, her husband and his relatives once again made a plea for help finding the 45-year-old mother of one. They've phoned hospitals, distributed fliers and asked for assistance on websites such as Facebook and Twitter.

"It's been an extremely difficult time," said Frank Murphy, 54. "I can't begin to explain what I'm going through. I ask that we don't give up — I'm not giving up."

    Hi Sooner!

It's OK to have a thread in the Support forum, and a thread in the Discussion forum. There are many cases like this, and we keep them separate on purpose!

This forum is just for information and support!

nothing on her FB that stands out. She seems very happy, pics of her husband, the dogs etc. She has not posted anything in a few months though. I guess with moving etc. Anyway, nothing stands out. IMO

Tried mapping the locations... very approximate. If there are any locals maybe you could help? The news articles say the bank is at University Drive but google maps kept suggesting North University Drive so I went with that.

A is the bank, B is where she was seen walking, C is where her car was found.

They are close to an area with parks or woods in the map that might have to be searched imo.

She and her husband enjoy breeding exotic reptiles, such as bearded dragons, her husband said. The couple had recently arranged the sale of reptiles to a Broward man, but the transaction apparently didn't happen, police said.
